Eco 1.6T sucks !!!

Very nice looking SUV but very bad drivetrain, after the first year bumps feel like the shocks are shot, low speeds gears shifts are jittery almost feeling like it wants to shut off. Will definitely be my last Hyundai

Do not buy

This is a very sharp vehicle that I really do like the looks in the parents of it but that's where it stops. The dual-clutch transmission that Hyundai has installed in these vehicles is terrible! When you hit your gas pedal you expect your vehicle to go not stumble hesitate or even stop and that's exactly what this dual-clutch transmission does in this vehicle. In my opinion Hyundai needs to do a recall and take all these cars with a dual-clutch transmission back before somebody gets in an accident and get seriously hurt or even worse killed because they turned into traffic in a car whose transmission does not want to engage and go when the gas pedal is pressed!

There is a raffle when the car goes over 40 mph, the service department does. Not know how to fix. It.I should not have this kind of problem with a new car. The service department does not know how to fix it. Very disappointed.

Bucking

Great looking vehicle easy to drive but has transmission problem that dealership refuses to fix. The car ran fine the first 10 months then the bucking developed. I was extremely happy with this vehicle until this issue arose.

I am not happy with the car's performance. I have had issues with my vehicle since day 1. Very unhappy how I was taken care of. From corporate to dealership no one wants to resolve this issue. The car is a hazard on the road.

Very unhappy 1st time Hyundai customer

I bought a brand new fully loaded 2017 Tucson Hyundai on Labor day 2017. A week before the one year mark I took my car to the Glendora dealer where I purchased the vehicle being that it was pulling & stuthrering to find out my brand new Tucson transmission needed to be replaced. The Glendora service people staff were very friendly & pleasant however I will never buy or recommend this vehicle to anybody let alone my friends or family. My car had to stay in th dealer for about a month being that there were no new transmissions available. Yes I was given a rental car at no charge but never did I ever expect to have this major issue with a brand new Tucson. I am a female widow on a budget, because of that I bought a brand new car being that I didn't want anybody else's problems with a used car. I am a very unhappy customer.

Tucson Transmisssion

If not for the dual/clutch transmission, I would be very happy with my Tucson. I have never had an automatic transmission hesitate like this one. If you press lightly on the accelerator, the Tucson jerks as if you were actually releasing a clutch on a manual transmission. That I got used to, but the hesitation is not acceptable. I have almost been in 3 separate accidents because of the transmission. When turning at an intersection, I pressed on the accelerator and NOTHING happened for 1-2 seconds. No power, I thought the car stalled. Instinctively I pressed on the accelerator more and then when the transmission kicked in it skipped a few gears... When I told the dealership about the issue they said they know and there is nothing they can do as that is how the transmission was designed. I can honestly say I will never buy another Hyundai again because of this. If I could, I would get rid of the Tucson now but the bbv value of it (2017 model) is currently around $15,000....I purchased the vehicle for $32,000 two years ago. Never again.

Dangerous vehicle to drive. Hesitates when trying to edge out into traffic.

The "double clutch" transmission that tries to "guess" what you are going to do is a hazard. Try pulling up to a stop sign then move forward, stop start again it won't let you. Very dangerous if not expecting it and very frustrating even though you are. My wife and I have expedited paying this vehicle off so we can be done with it. My wife and I have owned several Hyudai's in the past, One Tiberon and two Sonata's and were very happy with them both. After this Tucson experience, not sure i would chance going back.

It looks like a Heidi but drives like a Helen

They won’t recall it so there’s a class action lawsuit in progress. The 2019 have a little bit of an upgraded 6 speed on but I’m told those a crap too. Either way don’t buy from Jenkins they’ll just tell you there’s something wrong but since there’s no updates we can’t do anything!

Transmission Issues

Went in Again for the Same Transmission problems and here we are a week later with the Same Issues. Stay very clear from this make and model. Dealer is nice but were told that this make and model has issues with the transmission and replacement is the only option. So we play the gave of going back and forth to the dealer until it has a new transmission. Anyone want to join in on the fun.

Bad transmission

The transmission has a stutter in it when you let off the break and before you give it gas. It also hesitated when you do give it gas. It’s very dangerous to drive because you never know if the transmission will mess up while driving. I’ve been told by the dealership that it’s the way I drive. It’s not the way I drive. It’s not the gears shifting. I know what that feels like. The transmission should be recalled like the 2016s. Or at least Hyundai should be willing to do warranty work to replace the transmission.

SO DISSAPOINTED

Having issues with transmission overheating, jerking and being told this is normal for Dual clutch transmissions . I shouldn't have a fear of getting stuck in traffic or going on trip in a vehicle that isn't even 2 years old

Wish I had bought a Honda

My wife owned 3 Honda CRVs with no problems and wanted something different. Worse hesitating vehicle I've ever owned and I'm 64 years old. Hyundai wants to tell me how to drive? That's ridiculous. The car is dangerous and something should be done to fix it. This 2017 Hyundai Tucson limited with 13600 miles just left my wife on the side of the road and had to be towed to the dealer. It may be a separate issue from the hesitation but just died at a low speed and barely let her get pulled over. I've been reading reviews online and realize I should have never bought a Hyundai because it appears they are doing nothing to fix their dual clutch transmission problem. Thankfully I can afford to either burn it in my front yard or give it to the high school for the kids to beat with sledge hammers for a good cause because I would hate to trade it in and give the problem to someone else.

Double clutch double take.

If your looking for the 7speed transmission with the double clutch stay away. This combo is a safety hazard that causes your vehicle to not accelerate until it slows down enough to get back into an appropriate gear(auto transmission). My wife was almost hit twice and a third time with my grandson in the car. It’s also happened to me twice and several other people I know have had issues. This is happening in other Hyundai vehicles besides the Tucson as well. Don’t expect performance or reliability/longevity from your Tucson in this configuration. It’s a danger but Hyundai doesn’t want to admit it since it will tarnish its already low reputation.

disappointed

2017 Tuscon Engine needed to be replaced at 12000 miles. Continuously replacing headlights, Brake calipers seized up at 60000 miles and all needed to be replaced. This is my 5th Hyundai and it will be my last , The third connecting rod failed in engine, the same problem they had with all the recalled Sonata vehicles.

Bad transmission, I had to change it twice in two years. I will never buy Hyundai again. My friend an i bought this car together. He also had to change his transmission twice in two years and only in 8 months period. The worst investment ever for me,

A big disappointment

This vehicle is the biggest disappointment ever. I own a 2005 Hyundai Tucson and it’s twice the vehicle this one is. The comfort of this vehicle is so-so. Expect to hear plenty of wind and road noise while driving this POS, good thing there’s a radio to help drown out some of the noise. I don’t know how Hyundai could have built this piece of crap any cheaper. I can’t wait until my loan gets paid down so I can unload this jalopy. It’s back to an American made vehicle for me.
