2017 Tucson

Overall great vehicle. Brake rotors should be more durable. I should get more than 40000 original miles on them, the cost of replacing all 4 of them doubled the cost of the brake job on a 2 year old car.

Tucson Sport

Beautiful, excellent, fuel efficient vehicle, but the 4 cylinder inline 1.6 Turbo engine stumbles when accelerating from a stop and underpowers/underperforms for a second until it takes off and then it runs fine.

I love my Tucson and will probably lease a new one at the end of my current lease come July. My only complaint would be the hesitation when starting from a complete stop. Hopefully that will be resolved with the 2020 Tucson. Because I’m short, I love being high enough to see over the hood?

Really great car.... however, I really wanted the Kona when I leased my Tucson... The Tucson is a little large for my needs and the gas mileage sucks. On Highway as well....

The heat is actually non- existant in the winter. It takes forever to heat up and then is barely warm. I took it in to be looked at, but they said it is fine. It is not. It is freezing to be in this car in the winter

2017 Hyundai Tucson Review

We purchased our 2017 Hyundai Tucson in September 2017. It had a good deal of features we liked, was reasonably priced, and got good reviews. In May of 2018 we drove our Tucson to California. It handled well and didn’t create any real problems. At one point we were driving up hill and the engine RPMs raced very high though the vehicle did not go any faster. I attributed that to the desert heat. After that, the vehicle handled as expected. When we arrived in California we decided to have the oil changed at the local Hyundai dealer; the mileage at that point was around 7,500 miles. Several hours after dropping the car off the service department called us to tell us the engine needed replacement, but not to worry because it was covered under warranty. I got the sense that the problem was a known issue with the 4-cylinder Turbo engine in our vehicle. After approximately a week the short block was replaced. We were offered a rental car but did not need one. When we picked the car up it seemed fine. On our return trip we were going through Tennessee on a Friday afternoon when the car began having problems. The air conditioning was not blowing cold air and one of the dash lights began blinking. We immediately headed for the closest Hyundai dealer. Less than a mile away from the dealer ALL dash lights came on and the vehicle stopped running – the car was dead on the side of the road. Since the dealer did not have a tow truck we had to call Hyundai Roadside Service. Once the car was at the dealership the service people found that an alternator bolt was not tightened properly when the new short block was installed and the alternator needed replacement, but not to worry because it was covered under warranty. The repair was made and we had no other issues for the rest of our trip. Sometime later we had servicing done at our local dealership and I noted that there was a ‘tin-like’ sound when the car started. The local service department looked into, recognized a vibration, and ordered an exhaust part. When I picked up the car I noted that the noise was still there and I was told the noise I heard was from the fuel injectors. I’ve driven fuel injected vehicles for some time and never heard noises from them. The Parts Manager came in and explained that he had the same type Hyundai and his made sounded the same. We drive the vehicle now without issue; it has over 18,000 miles on it. It still has that noise and people still ask if I’ve had it checked out

my tuscon

I bought this two years ago and have been very pleased with this SUV. Thinking about upsizing to a bigger suv..And if I do , it will probably be the new Palisade that Hyundai has come out with....still thinking.

Still don’t like the dual shaft transmission... it occasionally stalls.... usually making the driving situation very scary! Hyundai says sorry there is not anything they can do about this situation... very sad!

Love My Tucson

I love my vehicle. I love the color and the style of the wheels. My husband can get in and out of the vehicle so much better, than when we had the Sonata. (due to health issues) The performance of the vehicle is pretty decent in the snow. Overall, I think it is a very sharp looking vehicle. I get lots of compliments.

What does this mean?

Good car overall, performance and gas mileage were very good. I never felt completely satisfied because of the color and style of vehicle I didn’t like. I had no other choices in that price range. So that’s it.

Great car

I overall love my Tucson. The only two things I dislike are: 1. The manufacturers windshield is of very poor quality. It cracked with the first temperature change within a month of leasing it brand new. 2. The turbo feature can make its response unreliable, especially when you need it to pick up speed fast.

Tucson Sport

I loive my Tucson; the sportiness, ease of handling. It is a great vehicle for me after retirement. After getting an adjustment for the acceleration concern, my car is exactly what I need. It is fun to drive.

2017 Tucson

The Tucson is a great looking vehicle at a great value. The headlights are the star of the vehicle. It is sturdy and reliable. If you are looking for engine power, definitely pay a bit more for the upgrade.

If only there wasn't that duel clutch tranny

I truley like My Tucson. Fuel mileage is above normal , performance the the 1.6 l with the turbo is nothing short of impressive. Handling and comfort is very good let alone the very stylish appearance. If only Hyundai would of did more research before installing that hard shifting and something chatting transmission. I’m happy.

This car has been great. Good aesthetics, love the awd, good gas mileage and value for the price. It was between this and a Subaru for us and this just seemed like a better value with good safety ratings to boot. The one downside is that the transmission can be a bit jerky at times from day one and takes some getting used to. The car is zippy at lower speeds but part of the downside is that the transmission is not very gradual when speeding up. It’s little bit like all or nothing when you accelerate. I’m Still happy, but that would be the one thing I’d change.

2017 Tucson turbo

Car is and drives nicely. My only complaint is the double clutch transmission. In low gear it is very choppy and jerky. It reminds me of my early days driving a stick-shift. Fortunately it hasn't stalled out on me, but it's come close.
