Do not get a turbo Tucson!

I know that Hyundai is a very reliable brand and many people in my family have owned them but I leased a Hyundai Tucson and it is the one that is turbo charged which means that it is equipped with a dual clutch. It is frightening! The acceleration is so hesitant that you press your foot on the gas pedal and you do not go anywhere for a few seconds. Imagine trying to merge onto the highway when cars are flying at you and you cannot move. I really like the car and wish I could get out of my contract just for this reason. However I don’t think Hyundia is going to work with me with this issue. I cannot tell you though how many times the service department has told me many many many many people complain about the same thing.

Disappointed

My car is 8 months old with 2300 mileage as i don’t use it often then the car engine light came on! Unbelievable! So i took it to the nearest dealer & it was the O2 sensor. They were able to fix it but still this shouldn’t happen. Very disappointed and will not buy hyundai again.

New purchase late 2/2018. Coming from vacation, car trouble in AL - 8 hours from home. Had to leave vehicle. 2700 miles. Required new engine. Took 3 months wait. Very disappointed. First new vehicle purchase in 10 years. Deflated...

My Tucson

THE WORST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN.. GO TO HONDA OR ANY OTHER DEALER I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS TUSCON TO ANYONE I THINK I GOT TWO GERBILS UNDER THE HOOD INSTEAD OF THE TURBO ENGINE I PAID EXTRA FOR!!

Audio goes out and doesn't work till reset.

Brand new car and audio has already been replaced once and still goes out. Technicians cant figure it out and Hyundai doesn't really care they sold a lemon audio system. I've made a complaint every time I've taken the car in for services and still no results.

Jumpy transmission

The transmission on this vehicle is not very responsive and I experience a jumpy feeling often when shifting from a stop, especially on hills. This issue has gotten worse since I purchased the vehicle brand new, but when I brought it in for an inspection, no repairs were made.

2017 Hyundai Tuscan Sport

My Tuscans transmission malfunctioned at 24,000 miles.After being a faithful consumer I was offered 2900.00 for my car threw the lemon law. They took off for mileage, my old trade , gap, etc. And that's what they came up with. What an insult.

Tucson Review

I truly enjoyed the Tucson for the first 6 months, but afterwards a lag coming out of first gear had developed and has me very concerned. Most times when I pull out from a stop, there's a lag before the first gear engages. I feel it is a real safety issue as my mom drives this car and I am concerned that she may pull out from a stop, trying to beat the traffic, and have an accident because of the lag. I'm surprised that I found out this is a common issue with the vehicle, yet I was told this is no concern. I would feel better leasing a different vehicle.

2017 Tuscon spott

I always liked the Hyundai Tucson and couldn't wait to trade my Nissan Rogue and to purchase. The main thing I wanted was a remote start and I was told that could be installed. That was incorrect information by the sales rep. When I contacted service they told me they were unable to install the remote start and if I had it done somewhere else it would void my warranty. I was very disappointed as this was the one feature I wanted. after reading the reviews after my purchase unfortunately I found that there was always a problem with the transmission and they are correct sometimes it feels like it won't get out of its way when you first accelerate this is my second Hyundai and I will never own another one. as soon as I'm able I will purchase another Nissan Rogue that has the features I want and runs much smoother.

Nothing but issues,

I made a bad decision to trade in for this vehicle, its been a nightmare! The dealership didnt back up their own salesman...i had to make up the extra pmt as someone messed up paperwork...nobody owns up too. Now its stalling and I almost was in accident cus it decides not to go when you need it to go. Very poor performance and I'm stuck with a suv I hate...first oil change, one of the staff stole money out of my center console.

Tucson is too small

The head room and cargo space in the Tucson is not adequate. I must either adjust the seat height each time I get in or out of the vehicle, or get used to sitting low like a sedan instead of higher like most other SUVs.

2017 Tucson Rating

I've been driving Hyundai's since 2005 and this model by far is the worst that I've owned. I was very happy with my 2005 Tucson and 2008 Santa Fe and now own a 2017 Tucson. I am very unhappy with the performance of this car due to the dual clutch. The car jerks at low speeds and hesitates constantly when taking off and trying to pull into traffic. At times, it has been downright dangerous! I'm furious with Hyundai that every time I bring the car in for service and mention the jerking and hesitation, that I am told it is because of the dual clutch. If Hyundai was aware of the problems with this type of engine, perhaps they should have remedied the problem before selling more of the defective product. It is because of this reason that I am now jaded against the Hyundai brand.

Transmission very problematic

Since purchasing our NEW Tucson we have had our transmission overheat twice (not engine) while in 10 mph or less traffic. Also, the stereo system will sometimes cut out and we have to wait 10-15 minutes and then restart the car. The Tucson does have some great tech features, it handles very well and even though I’m 6.2’ it’s till comfortable. If you don’t drive in stop and go traffic or don’t have to climb hills on your drive it is a good vehicle for the price. However, if you do drive in stop and go traffic or have to climb hills or mountains on a daily basis you may want something that has a more reliable transmission.

2017 tuscon

Actuator in blend door hasn't worked since day 1 keep telling me nothing is wrong. Now it's gonna cost me hundreds for repairs because my a.c. sucks got b.s. from service manager and I can guantee after being a loyal customer since 2007, I don't think I'm coming back if I can't get some satisfaction! Can't understand why didn't want to do the job!

Needs wirk

We love the compactness, economy and the marvelous features the Hyundai Tucson has. Our Tucson is our fourth Hyundai. That should say something. The Tucson has one big problem. I can’t stand the 2 second delay when accelerating from a stop or having to “punch it” to avoid a traffic problem. I would even say this delay is dangerous. Which is why with our next vehicle we will be going back to the Santa Fe.

Transmission issues

Sometimes the transmission feels like it will stall and sometimes the rpms go over 25000 when going down hill and is slow to downshift. I keep Complaining when I bring My car in for service and they say they are aware of the issues but ther has not been any resolve from Hyundai

Under power

Very disappointing vehicle

The AWD 2.0 Tucson I have is safe. But it is very under-powered and not very efficient. When you have to get out of someone's way, as the saying goes, the Tucson is very sluggish and has loud engine noise. It is relatively comfortable, easy to maneuver, and the brakes work well. But that lack of power is always evident. I would not get another. I have driven in equivalent CR-Vs that are bigger, quieter, quicker, and smoother.

Hate transmission

Right from salesman...i have had a nightmare I over pay for! Loaner or demo with 1400 miles on it. I asked within 30 days to return, not allowed! I feel so unsafe when my pos hesitates during traffic.
