Transmission sucks

Double clutch and acceleration is very annoying. Brought to dealer twice and they keep saying is normal. Vendor should fix the problem and make a recall. Can't wait for lease to end to get a new car..

Not as I expected

This in no way a fault of the service team.. the Tuscon that we are leasing is not the best model for us.. we are fortunate that is a lease and I can choose next time a vehicle that is more appropriated for us.

2017 Tucson Night, DCT life risking

I purchased this vehicle new and like every owner of the 2016-2018 Tucsons with the DCT transmissions, I suffer from the stalling and hesitation problem when shifting from stop to 1st gear. This vehicle needs to be recalled and fixed, dealer and corporate told me to watch YouTube videos to learn how to deal with it, Can you believe that? it is a malfunctioned car. Besides that I had to change a steering column and HVAC box within the first 26k miles, ridiculous!

Tucson dual clutch

This is my 4th Hyundai that I've owned I'm usually pretty satisfied with their product but please don't ever buy a dual clutch transmission there has been more issues with this type of transmission then I care to write about if I wanted to buy a stick I would have bought a stick to say the least I feel like ill end up with whiplash from the amount of times my head as jerked back-and-forth with this car don't ever buy a dual clutch transmission but over all the car runs great other than that

I am very happy with my Hyundai except for one major problem. read below

I have had this car almost three years, I would have given this car 5 stars but Hyundai really disappointed me in the way they handled the problem with my DCT transmission. Ocasionally when i would put my foot on the gas, the car would not move, very disturbing when I needed power I got nothing. I would take my foot off the gas and have to re apply it to the gas pedal to get moving. Very dangerous in some situations. Ocasionally the DCT transmission has a problem with slipping, jerkiness and rough shifting. This is an extremely dangerous problem when it happens. Hyundai for the last two and a half years told customer there was no problem with the transmission, they told us, it was the way we drove the car. Not a good answer from Hyundai. Two weeks ago HYundai sent me a notice to bring my car in for a software update. I did that last week, in the next month or so i will find out if this solved my problem.

Transmission issue

Just bought 2017 Tucson Eco 1.6T. long story short, Love everything about her except 1st and 2nd gear shifting. It's like she is screaming " I am going to be dead soon". Wish those wonderful car sale places will give you more room to return.

questionable

The car shakes when idle. It makes me wonder how Hyundai sells so many Tucson models without telling the client about the shaking. It scares me when I am driving and it feels like the car is about to shut down. It is a scary situation to jeopardize the safety of my family.

it's okay

I purchase my Huyndai brand new on 2017 and each year afterward I had to replace my compressor for the AC. Multiple time when the vehicle was brought into the shop and they could not duplicate the issue there for they could not fix it. I had to wait till I get the engine light was on to bring it is and have the compressor replace - three time. The first two was under warranty but what about in the future. It is not a quality I expected from an international brand such as Hyundai with the price over 40k.

Do not buy this vehicle

Do not buy this vehicle Already on my 2017 Tucson I need a new transmission and now a new engine which they will not cover under my warranty they make up the excuse of poor maintenance when I regularly keep up with all my oil Changes. My oil is of Evaporating-somewhere in the vehicle but they're blaming it on clogged this and that and sludge when after my transmission was put in I started having these problems somewhere in my vehicle which would cause the cloggage and sludge they are not offering to cover me under my warranty I'm not the only person with this exact problem.

Love my Tucson,

I love my Tucson, the only thing I don’t like is the storage space . I went from a Sante Fe to this and lost my storage because the spare is now in the back instead of underneath . Love the heated seats and using blu link to start it

Terrible vehicle

Winter the moon roof freezes the vehicle. I've put 3 transmission into it.. 142000km as of today. Read the recalls alone. Moon roof breakes often to. Electrical problems non stop as well. The back seat is cramped even for kid's. I'm 5 foot 9. Can't keep a head light longer then a month. Bluetooth is spotty at best. Key fobs need reprogramming yearly. Seriously if was you I'd walk away. Even at minus 5 out the moonroof freezes it out. If only I knew before hand. Moonroof is always breaking.. the tire size is odd ball so the cost is outrageous replacing tires. 1300 plus tax and alignment. The all wheel drive is a joke in winter. Sensors sxt up in winter as well.

Bittersweet

I love the vehicle, and wish to keep it, but it’s spent more time in the shop than it has been in my possession (going on 4 months ). If it weren’t for the issues the vehicle would be everything I wanted!

Engine failure at 112,000 miles.

My family was extremely happy with our 2017 Tucson Sport, up until 2 months ago. We had ran up a lot of highway miles driving back and forth to Florida from New Jersey. Like my previous vehicles (both Toyota, one ran 270K the other 360K with no major issues), I had expected over 200K miles out of this Hyundai. (especially when they come with a 100K mile warranty)! At only 112K miles the engine lost compression in 2 out of 4 cylinders and was barely able to make it home. The dealership stated that it would need to replace the lower half of the engine (short block), and the cost would be about $9,500 and up! However, the service department was really great and went to bat for me helping to eventually have Hyundai Corporate cover a majority of the costs. My portion ended up being $1,600. So not bad for a remanufactured engine swap. But I would not recommend purchasing a Hyundai product with the 1.4 Liter Turbo engine, until they get these issues worked out.

2017 Tuscon Eco

The dual clutch was replaced at 24k miles. Transmission issues noticed in 3rd year of ownership around 15k miles. Sluggish performance, variable idling and drive capabilities & tremendous safety risks made us want to have vehicle thoroughly checked out. Luckily we have a warranty for this technical service bulletin issue that should have had a recall for the inferior designed 7 speed transmission with a dual clutch. Hopefully our lemon of a vehicle makes it to 100k miles.

wouldn't buy another

First the engine failed, luckily under warranty. Seats are uncomfortable and cheap. You used to make a good vehicle but not so much anymore. I had to fight to get warranty repairs and to get reimbursed for rental car. Luckily we were not hurt in this car.

It's ok.

Transmission slips but service people say. Othing is wrong with it. I don't like that you can't open the hatch back from inside the car and I don't like the type of key it has. I will never lease a car again.
