Terrific medium-sized SUV
I'm used to Hondas and Acuras, so my 2017 Tucson Limited fits right in with my expectations for a good car. It's got a handsome exterior (although I do think the wheels that come with this pricier model look a little juvenile), and a beautiful, simple, classy interior. Front and back seat room and comfort are great. Driving an SUV is new to me, and I'm finding I really like the configuration. I've had four-door sedans, a two-door sedan, a convertible, and a light pickup - and this seems like the best layout yet. A couple things could be improved: it stumbles when taking off and acceleration from zero is quite slow, unless you manually put it in first gear. But once you're into second, it's fine. (So you have a choice: to leave it in Drive and curse it, or to put it in First at every stop sign.) The second thing is the owner's manual. It's oddly organized, ponderously written, with multiple references to other sections, and no overview of all the wonderful things your fancy new electronics can DO. Nine months after buying it, I still don't know all it can do. The salesman's 1-minute demonstration doesn't go very far in helping with that. But those two issues are not big enough for the car to lose a star (I still give it 5).
