Tucson Transmisssion
If not for the dual/clutch transmission, I would be very happy with my Tucson. I have never had an automatic transmission hesitate like this one. If you press lightly on the accelerator, the Tucson jerks as if you were actually releasing a clutch on a manual transmission. That I got used to, but the hesitation is not acceptable. I have almost been in 3 separate accidents because of the transmission. When turning at an intersection, I pressed on the accelerator and NOTHING happened for 1-2 seconds. No power, I thought the car stalled. Instinctively I pressed on the accelerator more and then when the transmission kicked in it skipped a few gears... When I told the dealership about the issue they said they know and there is nothing they can do as that is how the transmission was designed. I can honestly say I will never buy another Hyundai again because of this. If I could, I would get rid of the Tucson now but the bbv value of it (2017 model) is currently around $15,000....I purchased the vehicle for $32,000 two years ago. Never again.
