the little company that could
Look out Toyota and Honda, Hyundai has caught up and may one day surpass you. Although each of these companies make solid vehicles, what the others lack is humility. They offer less in the way of warranty and more in the way of price, just because they stand at #1 and #2 in the industry. Most people care about dependability, millage, durability, cost, not necessarily what name is on a decal on the rear of your vehicle. But the reason I point this out, is that many thousands of dollars extra are spent for that very reason, a name. You can get a well made vehicle, comfortable and dependable with a great warranty for thousands less because you are paying for a vehicle, not a name. It is good to have your brand synonymous with quality, but to charge extra because of this seems a little disingenuous. I have had two Hyundai's. My first was an accent that I traded in with 275,000 miles on it. I did the tune ups and oil changes myself. It was only in the shop once to have two sensors replaced. After seven years and so many miles I traded it in still with all the original equipment on it! Including brake shoes! Now I have purchased a Tucson and hope to have the same wonderful experience with it that I had with my accent. I did research, comparisons and narrowed the field down and took closer looks at Tacoma's, Civic's, Kona's, but the Tucson won out for best all-around. Tacoma has power and a nice look, but trans issues and the price and millage are cons. Civic has power and styling but price, comfort and room are sacrificed. Kona with the turbo is great, but small vehicle if you want to haul anything, plus not so roomy. Tuscon has room, comfort and with the larger engine has adequate power. Plus ability to haul and get decent millage, but at much less cost that the competitors. The styling looks good, color choices could be more diverse. Overall though, Hyundai makes a great vehicle!
