2020 Tucson Limited

I really like the vehicle until the recall came in stating that there is a fire hazard with this vehicle. being a retired firefighter this got my attention! I don't like having to leave it outside or trying to park it where it won't harm any other property around it, if it does ignite. I find this disappointing.

A step down from the previous model - but an increase in price

the Tucson isn't a bad SUV - it certainly does everything I need it to do. But when you feel "ripped off" by a manufacturer/dealership, well that's a taste that isn't likely to go away. A really bad delivery experience didn't help, but this Tucson is a real step down from the previous model. Another gutless engine - a 2.5l - but with a "normal mode" that somehow reduces the power to that of a lawn mower. Lack of features, no navigation, no power seats, no power tailgate - but an increase in the cost. Hmmm... how does that work exactly? The Tucson, is OK and that's about as far as I'd go. The dealer experience and the feeling that you get "value for money" needs to dramatically improve.

Value Is Good

Value is a good thing, but not in cars. Be sure you know what you're getting before you buy. Make sure it has the features you wan or you'll be like me, disappointed. And the things it's missing, should be standard.

Hyundai Tucson ultimate 2020

Seats should be more soft and comfortable. Audio issues has bothered me . Sound goes off while driving and sometimes doesn't come back. Sometimes there are static noises. Dealership said was fuse kit problem was fixed but problem recurred

Not for highway drivers

After purchasing a 2021 Tucson Limited for my daughter I loved the safety features. I purchased the same for myself. The drive is smooth however the safety features choose when to work. In addition to that its a 4 cyl but the pick is slow you have to give consideration when driving every day on the highway.

High expectations, average satisfaction

Tucson is a very popular vehicle with great styling, warranty but is hit and miss on technology and features. Fix on the misses and it may be worth the money for the ultimate package. As is, not fully satisfied and looking for more, unfortunately no take backsies on a model that doesn’t hold value. Unfortunate recalls too soon for a new vehicle as well, with disappointing dealership service (not exclusive to Hyundai though, as all dealerships are horrible).

Too much automation but at lease some can be disabled

Some automation can be disabled to keep the car from alerting. The lane departure and adaptive cruise can be disabled, thereby allowing the driver to keep control of the vehicle. However, some automation remains on. Doors lock either when vehicle shifts to D or when reaching 10mph with no way to disable. Also when parked the passenger doors will auto lock if they were not opened. The key fob buttons are too sensitive, commonly sets off panic alarm or opens tailgate if anything else is in pocket with the fob. The vehicle chirps quite loudly when locking and unlocking the doors with no way to silence, occurs when using button on fob or button on the door. Service information is hard to come by. If you plan to maintain your own 2020 Tucson you will have great difficulty gaining information. Many scan tools do not have information to completely interface with the systems. Driving experience is good. Pleasant handling, good feel to the wheel and solid brakes. Acceleration is lacking but it does provide a "Sport" mode which has better acceleration, sometimes too responsive, but an option. The six speed transmission is far better than any CVT I have painfully experienced.

Its transportation. Hopefully it will be reliable transportation. It has a few aids to help with my driving. The car runs too quiet. Some times I'm not sure if I turn the car off. I would prefer a key.

Just Average

Car is okay. Love the looks but noisy interior and uncomfortable driver's seat. Disappointing gas mileage. Okay value for the price, but problems would discourage me from recommending. Would not buy again.

Average performance

I was disappointed fob did not have remote start and rear hatch is manual. Lower then expected gas mileage. I do like the lane assist feature. Rear seats in down position gives vehicle plenty of storage.

Very decent but...

The car has been very decent so far, and it should be, its new! The only issue has been the climate control. When I first got the car, and id use the heater, id get a burning type odor coming into the car from the vents. Even with the recycle feature activated. So on cold days id either have to open a window, or not use the system and tolerate the cold. The dealer didn't find anything wrong, but noticed the odor, and stated it should eventually go away... In the meantime, I've had to deal with that for over a year! And til this day, even though its far less, there is still an unusual faint odor coming from the vents. So if your interested in this vehicle, take the ONE YOU WILL BE PURCHASING for a long ride, and make sure there are no odors coming out of your climate system, or other issues! Because once you ride away with it, your pretty much stuck with it.

Great vehicle with a horrible power train

Reliability is not an issue, not one ounce of problems there. The engine and transmission are just poorly mated, slow anemic acceleration, always feels underpowered, and off the line you honestly wonder if it will ever get up to speed. Sport mode helps but barely, it only hold transmission a gear lower so to wrench a bare minimum out of the engine.

Engine performance at acceleration is poor

The vehicle engine performance at take off is poor. Vehicle hesitates at take off, then surges. The noise from the wind can be heard inside the vehicle. This affects the sound system while playing music

Meh

It's comfortable to drive and drives mostly smooth. The faster you drive, the more shaky it gets. Also, when going over the speed limit, you can really hear the wind; even when driving with the music loud.

Love the car but the gas mileage is terrible.

I love Hyundai cars. I've had 3 Elantra and now a Tucson. But this Tucson doesn't give me the gas mileage as advertised. I never get more than 21 mpg. That's when I drove on a straight highway/freeway on a consistent speed. Typically it's around 18 mpg. I'm very disappointed in this gas mileage. I'm not sure if there's a glitch in the engine or somewhere that caused this the way it did in the 2015 Elantra. I hope someone looks into this as I'm hearing that there are other people that own Tucson complain about the bad gas mileage. If there's any fix that can be done, I would really appreciate it because as I mentioned I love the car itself.

drives great, loud road noise and incredibly hard seats

needs work, more ammenities, better seats, more road noise blocking, better paint and protection from rust, sirrus radio would have been a nice feature but my car didnt offer it and also roof rack. Was told I could have one and then couldnt.

Durable with ventilation system issues

The Tucson seems to be a durable vehicle. The down fall has been the ventilation system. It has a sporadic knocking noise, it really doesn't blow any air at all on the foot area, and after a few years of ownership it has developed a musty odor that lasts for the first five minutes of using the ventilation system. It still rides smooth after 36,000 miiles. But, the cruise control can range from about 2-3 mph after setting the cruise control, even on flat driving surfaces. The audio system could use a speaker upgrade, but the interior is mostly quiet when driving at highway speeds. The seats and cloth material are very comfortable.

Good Vehicle Initially With Some Troubling Sounds

The car was comfortable, easy for almost anyone to drive. The engine idled a bit too loud for me after a while. It seemed to use just a little bit of coolant after the first 3 months or so, so you'd have to put some distilled water in the reservoir every 3 or 4 months.
