Decent

Vehicle is decent overall. It’s kind of loud on the inside while driving. The exterior noise bothers me, too. I bought a 2021 model, it should be a lot quieter than it is. The interior features are so so, nothing to write home about. Basic seats, nothing fancy. Reminiscent of a rental car.

Leased vehicle

Handling, braking and ride is not smooth. Also, found vehicle has a recall that was known since 2018, and I am still waiting months for the replacement part and repair. Nice looking but not a good ride. Poor gas mileage.

HECU RECALL Ruined my experience

I bought my Tucson Limited at the end of 2020. Overall nice vehicle but I was never informed that this vehicle was included in the HECU Recall and as such, Hyundai recommends you DO NOT put the vehicle in your garage. Complete BS! It should not have been sold (brand new) with a known safety defect. Hyundai betrayed me!

Nothing exciting

I love that I have an SUV value is good but the SE model is just so boarding . It’s like an old mans truck, nothing exciting. I actually thing the Elantra Basic has a little more personality then the Tuscan.

good vehicle but overpriced

The 2021 Tucson is a nice vehicle, mine is the SE trim which is the base model with standard features. I like how the audio system is set up and it is comfortable seating. However, the price I paid is overpriced for what options and features it has at over 28,000. The MSRP according to their website is 26,000 so I'm not sure why it was over 2,000 higher.

Love love the style not mpg engine under powered.

Love love the style but do not love the mpg or the underpowered engine. The wipers in back have poor spray. The headlights do not shine well at night making it hard to see. It’s really too bad because love this car otherwise. Excellent room and space and comfort and style. Panorama should have a separate button for shade from sun roof opening.

Good for the price you pay

My first disappointment was the clarity of the sound system: the rear speakers can barely be heard. If you move the sound towards the rear speakers there is a huge difference meaning the rear speakers are very low. Went to the service department and they tested out and said everything is good, the rear speakers work which I knew that and when I try to explain them if I move the sound to front speakers the sound is loud and when I move the sound to rear speakers I can barely hear something, the guys moved the balance at approximately 60% - 70% towards the back. This is not how it should be. Very disappointed about this resolution...

It's Ok

I bought new and I have so many problems, with brakes, a safety recall regarding the ABS system, sounds, vibration, acceleration problems; all of them under 2K miles. As a result, I wouldn't recommend this vehicle.

What you wish you knew before you bought a 2021 Hyundai Tuscon...

We test drove lots of cars before we settled on the Tuscon. It won out on amenities and comfort. However, the engine is sluggish off the line, it's very noisy on start-up, and it is abysmally under-powered, I mean it is comically under-powered. Did I mention how slow it is...? It also gets terrible gas mileage. It cost waaaay too much to be this slow. At least is looks good!

Tucson too small

I should have done my homework so it's on me. The Tucson is too small and rides a little too stiff. Should have driven the Santa Fe. Also, wanted lift gate, didn't notice until wife went to pickbup groceries.

Had some electrical problems 1 week after purchase

I love everything about the car when I purchased it. But 1 week after having it the battery kept dying and spent 4 days in the dealership service centerto find out it was an electrical problem. Also the cable for the positive terminal on the battery was loose and had to take it to get it adjusted because it needed some kind of cap so it would fit. I just feel like it's too many problems already in only 2 weeks of purchase.

Good Vehicle

Good engineering on the whole. Entry and exit through front doors difficult if over 5'8" or disabled. Limited options. Engine performance such as miles per gallon lower than competition such as Subaru Forester. Bright spot: proximity senors and alarms.

It's a car. That's all.

The car we have gets us around, and that's what a car is supposed to do. The few bells and whistles (basically the audio system) aren't really necessary, though it's nice to have lane assist and a backup camera. But the more useful features (GPS navigation in the car, so that faulty connections to my phone aren't necessary; parking assist) are absent, even though the car was a year old and still overpriced. Essentially, I'd rather buy a used car without all the high-tech connectivity with phones and save money and not have to deal with the baubles.

Horrible gas mileage and engine hesitation

Pretty car, poor performance, very expensive to drive since you have to fill the tank every 2-3 days if you drive it a lot. Gets mpg below factory sticker, even after the “break in” period. Also hesitates a lot. When it doesn’t, it drives great.

The vehicle is small compared to competitors it drinks gas. Nothing to write home about styling is ok on the Sport trim i have. The engine is your typical under powered 4 banger. It has a lengthy warranty other than that Nothing to get excited about.

The vehicle is nice looking, has many added features to help with travel, just unhappy with the performance of vehicle after last trip, I feel like I am presenting a hazard to myself and others on the road if I get back in the car and drive with no known cause for the problem and no repairs made.

I don’t really know how to handle this situation, if the dealer is trying to find cause for concern and can’t what options do I have? I loved the car before but I’m very concerned about the future and if I have a long term problem.

Just bought the vehicle so not much to say. Only thing I think is the power is a little low but seems to do ok. The ride is stiff but expected on a small suv. Seats are hard but the rear are impressive. Reclining back seats.

Gas guzzler

My 2013 Tucson was not a gas guzzler. I miss the back pull over curtain to hide packages. I also miss the CD layer, we can’t all afford Sirus. The screen is much better on this car, but it is harder to program.

Beautiful styling but rough ride.¹

Overall it is a sound vehicle but not really comfortable riding. Seems to sway and is bumpy on small road imperfections. We may trade it in eventually for a Suburu or Buick which both had a more comfortable ride.
