I love the style and features but.....

I love the features, style, color and the way it handles but it has some issues for such a new car. I hate that it's not push start. The check rear brake light comes on even thought the light is working. The screen is quirky and shuts off, blinks and half the time it does not connect to devices. Also the rear camera stays on well after I am no longer in reverse.

My Santa Cruz (aka Santa Pa)

Santa Pa is great arOUnd town. OUr two grandsons enjoy riding in the backseat, and always wanted Pa (me) to drive a pickup. I looked at other pickups and determined Santa Pa got the bill!!!

Fun to drive but appears to be very fragile

Overall, the truck is pretty good, but I’m not happy with the fact that the only way to lock the truck is with a key fob. Also that there’s no feature that allows me to link my garage door to the car.

Needs better bed cover system

Cant put anything you want to keep dry in bed on a rainy day as the cover does not keep the compartment dry, leaks badly. Needs a drop-down arm rest in back seat. FOB has to be in direct line of site for it to activate touch door to open/close feature. Changed batteries, makes no difference. If you are standing with your left side facing the door and FOB is in right pocket (nothing else in the pocket) the FOB does not unlock the door, same holds true when locking it.

Love our Santa Cruz! The seats are so comfortable! The bed is easy to access and has great tie downs and cover. Love the style and maneuverability! Very pleased with our Carvana sight unseen purchase! Great consumer reports reviews too!

I love it, except for the fuel injection issue that seems to plague them. As long as that is covered under warranty, I am happy. Rides like a Sonata but with a convenient truck bed.

Was hoping for the best but reliability just is not there.

Less than 25,000 miles and it needs a transmission and PDU. The transmission was faulty from the first day of ownership. The failing PDU came a few months later. Afraid to get the transmission replaced as I will most likely get a remanufactured one that have a track record of failing within a few thousand miles of being installed. Generally, over all, minus the drivetrain issues, my Santa Cruz has been enjoyable. Comfortable enough for moderate road trips; question if it will be comfortable for a day long road trip. Fuel economy has been roughly the rated efficiency. I usually get 24-26 around town and up to 32 on the highway if it is flat. Have not really put an weight in the bed to see how it handles a load. Beware the dealer service departments when it comes to the complimentary service as they will tell you that you do not qualify for the full amount. The dealer I bought it from told me it is four oil changes/tire rotations and you are done. The 2024s get 7 complimentary services. Do not let them cheat you out of them.
