Would not purchase again

Ok car if you are looking for an inexpensive alternative but just know that you get what you pay for. The handling is horrible with the Hyundai Santa Fe, very sensitive and wonders when driving highway speeds. Also, my interior back passenger door rattles only after having the car for a year.

Hyundai Sante Fe Sport

The most important part of a car is the seat. I hate the seat! It slopes down at too much of an angle and does not support my lower back. The lumbar feature does nothing to help. I have to use a small pillow in the seat for my lower back for support. Also, the headrest does not go back far enough. I never had this issue with my Toyota Camry. The year of my car, 2014, still has the manual rear hatch opening where you have to press the key fob "hold" and then open the back. I will say the car drives like a dream and all of my riders compliment the roominess and comfort of the back seat.

2014 Hyundai Santa Fe

I would never buy this car again. The service visits are much more expensive than my first Santa Fe. On a regular basis my dash warning light is going off, most recently between the 30K servicing and then an engine check for a recall notice. There is no way to figure out why the light is going off. You have to take the vehicle into the service dept to have it evaluated i.e. more money on repairs. I loved my first Santa Fe and I'd love this one if I didnt spend so much time with the service department.

Buying a demo

The dealer should tell you the date that they take it out of stock is the date the warranty start I bought my car in September the dealer took it out of stock and December so that means I had 9 months Less on my warranty when I brought my car in to have other things fixed and then I asked him about my camera he checked and told me I was not under the warranty that's not fair to the customerd0

The Panoramic Sunroof Ordeal and Old Baten Switch

My Concern sunroof was under Warranty when I purchased Vehicle. Had issues with Sunroof several Times while Under Warranty. They Customer Service Claimed they replaced Entire Sunroof Glass Not! Second time they Claim they replaced motor. Third time they had the Audacity to say they would split the cost with me. All I do is drive The Vehicle. The Sunroof was a Defective Product from the Beginning. Bottom Line Not Happy with this Product or Hyundai. Therefore I am Taking my Hard Earned Money to a Company Who Truly Values their Customer Business and Addresses Customer Concerns no matter The Cost. Stand Behind Your Product. Or Don't sell it!

Full of tech and great family Suv

The wife and I looked around for months for different SUV and finally decided on the Santa Fe sport. I am a huge car guy and can be very picky. Suttle styling, vehicle stance, options and interior room all factored in my(our) decision. We checked out several models of Santa fe including the top model Ultimate. We were looking for a few years old but low miles and I for sure wanted all the options. Ultimate options without the ultimate price tag. Large LCD display, blind sport monitoring, panorama roof, hill descent, cooled and heated seats etc. In the end we went with a 2014 Santa fe sport non turbo. It has 40k miles and only a couple years old. It's been 4 or 5 years and couldn't be happier. It gets 30 plus mpg on highway easy and rides super smooth. Plenty of leg room even with toddler seat in rear. I am 6"2 and the leg room driving is plenty. My daily driver is 4 door f150 and although it clearly doesn't have that amount of room its still plenty of room for longer trips. After a few years of owning and driving, we are very happy without choice and wouldn't change it. In closing, if you are in the market for an SUV I would highly recommend the Santa Fe sport. If you can afford the new one, they are even better looking and have more gadgets. John

Don’t buy one

Don’t buy this car and don’t give Hyundai your business. The engine will have to be replaced, there’s nothing you can do about it. Hopefully you won’t be on the highway like I was when it puts itself in limp mode. It’s slower than a Prius, it’s less reliable than a Land Rover, and the service from Hyundai is deplorable.

Great car ... but would NOT RECOMMEND purchasing the Navigation package. IT SUCKS!!! I find using my cell phone with Googlr Maps is more accurate and more user friendly!

Basic

Dumbed down Santa Fe. Sport 4 cyl has no get up and go. Passenger seat sits on the floor, very low. To many gears for a 4 banger, likes to shift a lot and downshifts when slowing down too fast to the lowest gears. Extras are OK, full sunroof, electronics power comfort all pretty good. Wouldn't pay for the map service again, definitely not worth it. Good fuel economy. fairly comfortable for average person, larger not so much

Engine and Turbo unit was replaced at 9000k .Now driving a new car with remanufactured engine ,even though under warranty HYundai says,after spending $35k Having weird sound from exhaust intermittently,dealer could not figure out .

Wish this was a V-6 instead of a 4 cylinder

I bought a brand new Santa Fe in 2005 and I absolutely loved the power getting on the interstate and overall how it drove. Since loved it so much purchased another Santa Fe in 2014 brand new. I must say I have not been near as happy with this one. I assumed the engine was a V-6. I didn't find out until I took it in because thought something must be wrong w it due to not the power like my 2005. It was then I was told they switched them to 4 cylinders. So guess I'm stuck:-(
