Santa Fe Issues

I bought my Santa Fe 2014 in La Quinta. I like the car but ever since I bought it, it tends to have a grinding sound when you start it. Ive taken it in for servicing but unfortunately it hasn’t been fixed properly.

My 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe limited edition was a heavier and more solid car to drive than my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe sport 2.4 L. The steering is too sensitive for me. The interior and exterior or design nicely. The backup camera is a great feature to have.

Nice but bad paint job

My wife and I are enjoying our Santa Fe. It has quite a few luxury features which we appreciate. What we don't appreciate is the sub par paint job. Paint on the hood has begun to chip in quite a few places. And there are chipped places on several other places on the vehicle. My wife owns a 2011 Elantra Touring. The paint job on it is flawless.

Engine bearings falling apart

It's a very nice car but soon after we got it we got a recall on the engine and then started seeing metal fragments on the oil stick. They did the fix on it but any amount of metal in the engine is going to score the cylinder walls and reduce the engine lifespan

My experience with 2014 Santa Fe Sport is fair. I like the vehicle, except that steering wheel doesn't telescope out. Mine does not get close enough to me, and moving seat to have arms at comfortable range causes knees to touch dashboard.

Disappointed after prior 2 visits. Car not cleaned/vacuumed. Mistake by Service Dept. erasing diagnostic data before inspection sticker. This visit car came back SO CLEAN, even scuff marks buffed out! :)

There are two things I dislike, 1 The rear camera is too small 2 The steering is too sensitive . Comfort is good. The size could be smaller for me but my husband likes it. He does n't like the sensitive steering either

I don't Love It

It's an ok vehicle. Lots of space.. easy to drive, except in the winter, it sucks. And gas mileage leaves a lot to be desired. My 2002 Dodge Intrepid got better gas mileage. So it's ok, might look into trading it..

GDI Engine

Carbon build up in the GDI engine and the fuel rail controls are costly to maintain and I will not buy another GDI engine.drives good but the carbon build up is really a problem. I hope you can come up with a better solution

2014 Hyundai review

I have had my 2014 Santa Fe Sport for about 14 months. Since I purchased a pre-owned vehicle of course there are concerns. But at this point and with the miles I have on the vehicle, it is doing pretty good. The staff at Carolina Hyundai tells me nothing major is going on... and I am in good shape. I like the features inside, heated seats, audio, backup camera, all of that stuff. I like the height when sitting in my Sana Fe and the space in the back. I'm a direct seller, I sell Tupperware, so I have lots of room for my bowls and gadgets! Awesome. The ride is not as smooth as I would like, but the SUV is 5 years old. Simple wear and tear, but otherwise it's a pretty neat SUV.

Alot to like but alot of annoyance too

This vehicle is nice to look at and has some good qualities but many quirks. Fluke things that go wrong. Interior materials not the best. Seats keep breaking down. The electric system.went out a couple times. Something blew.out a couple time and scared the heck out of me. I've been towed a lot.

2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Quality Control

See Pros and Cons Below. Nice styling, pretty comfortable ride but quality control is a problem. I've had engine issues, A/C lines require replacement ($900), Sway Bars need to be replaced (($500 plus). Fortunately the engine is under warranty and Hyundai has extended the warranty due to engine issues.

2014 Santa Fe sport AWD

The vehicle is fully loaded with all three packages available at purchase with the addition of the factory tow package. The fit and finish of the vehicle is very good, however the paint on the hood is peeling, professional vehicle painters advise the vehicle hood was not primed and sealed properly, a problem with the 2014 Sant Fe. The vehicle has the premium paint at an additional cost. Hyundai will not warranty the paint longer then 3 years. The vehicles electronic steering is horrible, has been since new, the vehicle wanders all over the road, I had it in to be corrected, no success I will never buy another Hyundai with this electronic steering. Hyundai sales touts there excellent 5 year 100000 mile warranty, not so wonderful when you need something fixed under warranty, their warranty is really 3 yrs 36000 miles except for the drivetrain. They misled me when I purchased the vehicle. I bought two The same year...buyer beware I guess.

2014 Santa Fe Sport

I like the vehicle; however, am disappointed with the weatherstrip around drivers door. It has been replaced twice in 47K miles. Also the trim around the bottom of the passenger front seat has been replaced twice. All done under the warranty. On my dime after warranty expires.

Not what i thought

I purchased a Santa Fe after being the owner of a 2006 Sonata that ran and is still running great. i kept up with all maintenance on my Sonata and thought that by doing the same for the Santa Fe I'd have the same joy but the materials inside the car are cheap plastic which break easily and there have been 3 recalls to date. After reading many negative reviews from other people i'm realizing that it's not just this one. unfortunately I will be looking to purchase a different brand of suv in the future.

Not very good on gas mileage

Even though is a 4 cylinder vehicle gas mileage is not good, specially on city streets. The body style is very nice, but the vehicle power overall is very limited. Definitely next time I buy an SUV is going to be a 6 cylinder one.

I loved it till I started having problems with it-steering column, AC issues , Radio issues. Cost of replacing items due to how they are made. Have to replace whole thing for a small part. While steering column for a bushing. While mirror and bracket for broken pin or whatever hold the dude mirror to the arm

Good Vehicle But Could Be Better

The engine failed on my Santa Fe after 69000 miles. It was still under warranty and Hyundai did an admirable job of dealing with the problem. However, that shouldn't happen...especially since I had done all maintenance on the vehicle when due. In addition, the seats could be a little more comfortable and I have always thought that, for such a vehicle, it should get slightly better gas mileage. (Maybe wishful thinking...) The vehicle has plenty of power and does great in the mountains! It's attractive, and I have seen other, more expensive, and seemingly larger SUVs with less cargo space. All the amenities are excellent! My family and I have owned 4 Hyundai's and loved all of them though this is my least favorite. I will probably drive this for another 5 years.

Great comfort but concerned about durability

Love the look and feel of my Sante Fe but have had 2 issues with only 78,000 miles. The air conditioner and turbo have been repaired. Reliability And durability are major concerns since I have an issue with the longevity of the vehicle.

I want to love my car, but...

Our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe has had quite a few issues since we purchased it new in 2014. It's been in the shop more than we care to remember. We previously purchased a used 2006 Tuscon from Balise, and traded it in against the new Santa Fe. Wish we hadn't done the swap! Absolutely loved the 2006 Tuscon and had no complaints. Just needed the money towards the trade, but in hindsight would have kept the Tuscon, or just gotten a newer model Tuscon in 2014.

Anxiety over engine function

My first Hyundai Santa Fe was a 2004 model and I put nearly 100,000 miles on it. The 2014 model Santa Fe I now own, that has just 65k miles on it, has had more issues than the first vehicle. Recently disclosed issues with Hyundai engine issues are disconcerting. I appreciate my local Hyundai dealer service persons integrity in working with me to resolve my recent troubling service need.
