Lane assist will cause an accident
Driver assist pulls to the left. The dealer insists there’s no problem. But there is. I did my best trying to convince them. I told them to drive it on a long straight road for the most obvious check. They stuck to their story. I can’t use lane assist. It will pull the car into oncoming traffic. I have to hold the wheel firmly to keep it in the lane, therefore it’s useless. As far as performance, accelerating to merge into traffic is risky on highways and parkways. Even in Sport mode, pick up is not great and it hesitates. The design needs improvement. They put the magnetic charger in the worst possible spot. It’s as if nobody tested the car. How can you store anything in that compartment of you need to charge your phone? You can’t move things while driving. Also, it’s a very tight space between the seats. You want to place the keys somewhere but you can’t use the cup holders when drinks are in there, and there’s nowhere to place your phone if you need to use it for GPS. The dash GPS has issues - it’s difficult to remove a profile and switch when two phones are in the car. Mine was not supposed to connect as I disconnected CarPlay, yet it connected and wouldn’t disconnect. I tried a hard reset, reboot of phones but that didn’t work. There are other problems. Radio is not user friendly, changing channels on the wheel requires preset modes which isn’t helpful outside of areas when stations change. When I pull into my driveway, my husband’s calls connect to the car. His Bluetooth is off and we deleted his car profile yet it still happens. This disrupts his work calls. It’s ultra confusing when I’m on my own phone call (not through the car speaker) and the other caller hears me but my husband can’t hear anyone as he’s been disconnected. I can’t very well speak to the person who doesn’t know me or what happened. I have to turn off the car and leave the car and my husband has to reconnect. This is a bigger problem and more disruptive when he’s on conference calls. We’ve tried settings and nothing fixes it. The car won’t forget profiles once a phone has been connected. As for space, it’s not a good value. The back area is too small. Three of us go camping and have a very difficult time fitting in the basics. We got the vehicle for this purpose and to avoid having to place storage on the top of the car. We put one back seat down but it’s a very tight fit for everyone. As for comfort, the front seats are okay for long trips. Not great. Just okay. Back seats are not comfortable for long trips. The back seats do not move forward or backward. Just the seat backs tilt (if you don’t have anything in the truck blocking them. The dash is good in some ways. There’s the large MPH numbers to see the speed. That’s better than the dial. Moving between options takes some learning and it’s still hard to find settings at times. I’m digitally inclined so this isn’t novel. I just think it can be made more user friendly. Also they need to test drive these cars on women.
