Great 1/2 ton pickup

We bought our 2017 in 2019 at a used car dealership. This is a great 1/2 ton pickup. Rides well, handles well, has been very dependable. Ours has the 2.7 V6 "Ecoboost." Twin Turbo. I wouldn't tow a 40' trailer of hay, but it's sufficient. Visibility is good even with the regular mirrors. the back seats easily fold up. It's a good cross country option. our 2WD automatic trans will achieve mid 20s in mpg. My only critique is that incessant Auto Start Stop goofball thing. Ford didn't give it away and 80% of an internal combustion engine's wear ... is during start ... no oil pressure. A.S.S. mode intentionally multiplies this ... how about an electric oil pump to keep the system pressurized, would help the turbo's bearings, too. Overall, ya did great with this pickup, Ford. thanks.

Great 1/2 ton pickup

Have had this pickup 6 years and put >125k miles on it. Comfortable, dependable. Handles well. Good visibility. Yes, the 2.7 ecoboost gets 25+ mpg in low wind. Isn’ta heavy hauler. Have the F350 for that, but does carry cattle cubes. My only knock is the auto start stop. If i HAVE to pay for that at least make the switch persist OFF

60,000 miles and much of it pulling my 7,000 lb even pull trailer

This truck takes on steep grades with no concern on my half! The ten speed automatic even helps me slow down going down although half the time I like to manually downshift it. Gas mileage is about 12 mpg and sometimes as much as 14mpg. What I really like is when I drive without my trailer, I have gotten as much as 22 mpg!

Best pickup I’ve ever owned.

I bought the truck new, 3.5 eco boost 4x4, XLT. It’s mostly used for hauling a 25’ travel trailer and I’ve had no problems with it. I traded a 2000 F150 that I had for 17 years and I thought that was a good truck. I’ve owned chevys, a Toyota, and several Ford pickups. This current pickup has been trouble free, and is so comfortable to drive. Handles great and the engine has more than enough power for my needs.

Great Choice

I have a 2017 Super Lariat F-150 4x4 with the 3.5 eco-boost engine. It was the perfect choice for me. I can’t speak for mountainous terrain since I live where it’s flat, and I do not tow that often. But this truck has PLENTY of power and get up ‘n go. I easily get over 20 mpg on the interstate, and since I stay off the turbo as much as I can, I get really good milage in town too. The ride is so smooth and it handles so well, I plan on keeping it for a long time. With a little over six years and 60K miles on it, she’s still turning heads when I cruise by.

Good vehicle no big issues a few small

I’ve put almost 900000 miles on this truck and it’s been almost perfect. Have had a few small issues. Ignition switch fixed at 40k and wiper switch around 60k. Water pump went at 85k but was a pretty easy fix.

Trouble from the start

The truck looks great and the 3.5 is impressive. It handles well for a truck and it's loaded with features like self park. The ride is comfortable and fuel economy is not bad depending on how heavy your right foot it. All the good has been hampered by mechanical issues. Transmission went out and needed to be replaced. This was a "known issue" according to Ford but no recall??? This thing suddenly downshifted while on the highway without warning... this is the equivalent of slamming on the brakes. Thankfully I made it in under warranty but the cost would have been $17K for the trans and everything else. Most recently I needed the rear differential rebuilt (only 72K miles of light use). It was very clear that the issue was a result of a manufacturing/assembly error. Also a "known issue" according to Ford but this time it was out of warranty.

My Ford F-150 XLT

I bought this truck used in 2020 with only 500 miles on it! It was a great find! I had an 2006 F15 XLT V8 comparing this to my 2017 is not fair as my 2017 is a little underpowered but is much more comfortable to drive! Oh and gets great fuel mileage!

4th f150

I have had other vehicles but i have always came back to ford as they make the best trucks.these seem to be the best tow vehicles period ! Keep building them ford tough.I pull a 27’ travel trailer several trips a year and next truck will be an f250 for long distance .

Bought the vehicle, hooked a trailer up and towed my old car home from the lot. It didn't notice the trailer behind it. It is comfortable and quiet inside.

Love This Truck

Quick thoughts. It’s a great truck with so much interior room and great amenities. Lots of cup holders. Love how rear seats easily flip up. Love the pull out step for getting up on the bed. So much fun to drive. But, it’s an expensive truck. We were lucky to find one that had been driven by the dealership’s owner. even then, it was expensive. Still I would highly recommend it.

Great Towing Vehicle!

I have used my 2017 F150 to pull our 25 ft pull trailer that is 7,500 lbs loaded for the last two years and am amazed of the power that it has! Going up grades is not a challenge for this truck. I can downshift the truck on steep grades and it helps slow down very satisfactorily. I have been getting around 22 mpg when I am not pulling a trailer. The room for passengers is huge!

Good truck

This is the best truck I have ever owned! It is very comfortable and drives great on the highway and over rough roads. Two minor things bug me... The gas door is not lockable and the hood release grabs my boot sole when I release the parking brake, releasing the hood. Then I have to exit the vehicle and close the hood. If they recessed the hood release 1/4", it would be OK. There is no excuse for leaving the gas door unlocked, with a 36 gallon tank! I bought an aftermarket locking gas door.

Love this vehicle but...

This car is fun and the platinum version feels like every feature possible is in it. There are some minor software issues that should be easy for them to resolve to make it perfect. I have the bed extender and it is a great addition!
