2012 Honda Pilot

I actually love the versatility of the vehicle and the performance. There are several issues that are clearly poor design flaws that Honda is not standing behind though. The rear shocks both failed by 45,000 miles - which should not happen. I have never pulled a trailer or anything, so there was no reason for these to fail early. The front bushing in the control arm has started to leak. Honda clearly has not designed these well either. The early failures on these components distract from what is a very versatile vehicle that meets all my needs otherwise.

Family Car

The pilot is good for what it is - a family car. It is expensive to own and operate. The gas mileage is not very good, typically between 18-21 MPG. The biggest issue is that the brake rotors are not sufficient for a vehicle of this weight. This causes them to heat up and warp under normal driving conditions. the warped rotors need to be replaced, as they are too thin to resurface.

Classic design, solid performance.

Seems like in todays market, most "import" vehicles look the same. Honda, Hundai, Kia, Subaru, Toyota sedans- remove the badging and very little separates their appearance. The Pilot maintained its own identity until the new 2016 model. Now it's just another CRV / Odyssey / mini van look-alike. I know looks aren't everything. Features, performance and value will ultimately sell me on a vehicle, which is why I chose the Pilot in 2012. But please Honda, separate yourselves from the masses and show some class!

VEHICLE OVER ALL COMFORT

I HAD A 2002 BMW X5 AND THIS PILOT HAS SUPER SEED THE EXTRAS AND THE PAYMENT WAS ABOUT $20,000.00 LESS SO I AM VERY HAPPY ALSO WITH THE RIDE, THE INTERIOR SPACE AND THE GAS MILAGE!!!

2012 Honda Pilot - best vehicle I've owned...

I love my 2012 Honda Pilot. I have three kids and a dog and everything fits well and comfortably. It drives well and isn't too long to parallel park on crowded Seattle streets. I've been mountains in it for my job and downtown in it during rush hour, handles like a car but is big and safe and tough. Best vehicle I've ever had and I've owned a 2006 Pilot, 2010 Accord and 2008 Odyssey.

My second Pilot. The first was a 2006 model. Great quality vehicle, plenty of passenger or hauling capacity. Reasonable gas mileage. No issues in 5 years and 65,000 mikes of operation.
