Day 2 and so disappointed!
Thankfully, Hyundai honors a 3-day worry-free exchange! There’s nothing worse than being completely miserable with your new car. This is my fourth Elantra (2nd) Value Edition, as I trade up every two years.
Where do I start...just bought it yesterday. I’ve driven it roughly 100 miles. The headlights are incredibly weak, even using high beams I was having to slow down for my own safety. Touch-screen is an inch smaller...it makes a difference to me. The interior compared to my 2018 is like I stepped into an old school 1989 Ford Focus. Everything looks so BASIC. They took away the somewhat “richness” with smaller everything. The center console is ridiculous - they shortened the length, width and depth. The cup holders are just round plastic holes - no grip on bottom or sides...NO lumbar support - why would they take that from the Value Edition? The little cubby doesn’t have the slide cover and it’s smaller.
They only had the beige interior, which I despise as it leaves water stains...and cloth door paneling?
There are hundreds of reviews re: the new transmission they put in this year - having to be replaced at 2,000 - 4,000 miles - some twice. Something else to be stressed about. Who needs that right now?!
Poor choice on my part - should have done more research, and paid closer attention to the interior.
I’ve got 24 hours to exchange - Sonata isn’t in my price range so I’m hoping for a 2019.
