A car with character!!
I am in my late 60's and was looking to buy a car that would take me back to my younger days of driving sports cars, muscle cars, FUN cars to drive!! I am a construction contractor and drive a large pick-up truck much of my day. I wanted a fun car to drive also and spent a lot of time doing my homework before making a purchase. I was looking at buying an older Porshe, but I did not want the expense associated with the up-keep. A good vehicle warrantee also weighed heavily in my decision making. I read reviews and road tests and finally decided to look for a very low mileage Genesis Coupe with the 6 speed manual transmission. I found the right car at Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta that only had 1300 miles and had never been titled. This car offers everything that I was looking for. 10 year warrantee, fair fuel economy, very fast and handles more like a true sports car than most other coup's in it's class. My Son has a 2015 Mustang GT and we did some comparisons of the 2 vehicles. While the 8 cylinder Mustang was about 4 tenths of a second faster from 0-60 (Genesis has a 6 cylinder), the Genesis handled much better and would beat the Mustang on a tight road course. .Driving this car is fun and it reminds me in some ways of the sports cars of the 60's. There is noticeable road noise and a very solid feel to the suspension. With this being said, while on a hands free phone call, it is not disruptive. I have not had any complaints from anyone on the other end of calls. Hyundai built this car for performance with enough creature features to make it appealing. Performance was the main goal. My wife enjoys riding with me also. We love to take off and ride in the mountains of north Georgia. Overall, I would rate this car a 9 on a 10 scale. I have not ever driven a car that is a 10 in the price range of this Genesis Coupe, but I am totally satisfied with my purchase. If you want real value, a car that has spirit and one that turns heads, buy a Genesis Coupe Ultimate 3.8. Enough said!!
