high highs and low lows

2021 Blue Hybrid. great style, size and gas mileage. lots of road noise, engine, and wind noise. could be insulated better, may be on the hybrid version for better mileage. hesitation from start shifting electric to gas motors, seats/seating could be more comfortable. actually a much larger car than it seems.

Hopefully other Sonata's are better than mine

First off, the interior and exterior are very nice. I reccomend getting leather because it is beautifully styled, and comfortable. Surprised that the SEL Premium trim level has no glove box light. It was between the new Sonata or Accord for me, but the Sonata is a head turner for sure. I am only rating my particular vehicle low, may be a bad egg: two defects immediately, only put 208 miles on it and it needed 15 days in the service department. Hyundai Consumer Affairs zero help so far, must think that is completely fine to drive for two weeks and in the shop for two weeks. I am now dealing with the BBB. I 100% reccomend the Hyundai Tucson, while my beautiful Sonata was in the shop for 16 days I had the 2021 Tucson Ultimate. Put more miles on it than my own vehicle and nothing wrong with it.

Terry's new 2020 Hyundai Sonata

I traded my 2018 Sonata in on my 2020 Sonata and I love my car. She is fully loaded with all the latest tech and STYLE. My concern is the wind noise coming in around all of my doors and the sound coming from my transmission which could be the how its suppose to be...I believe its a CVT. I hope to get the wind noise resolved. Thank you.

Durability of the front end can use improvement

My 2020 unlimited is very comfortable and fuel efficient. My only negatives would be the durability of the front bumper where the headlights corner off need extra mounting. Mine have came up on both sides.

Very Good drive

I have driven all Accord, Camry and I like the way my Sonata drives better! Good on gas I get to Bay Area up north from inland empire on one tank of gas. Has sport mode for when you need a little power assist.

2020 Hyundai Sonata Gls plus 1.6T

Very disappointed in this vehicle. To name just a few, excessive wind noise starting at 45 mph. Road noise is loud and annoying. Car feels cheap, rides like an Elantra. Gas tank to small. No performance. Had a 2013 which was the best, 2016 was a close second. This one they missed the mark by a wide margin. Regret getting it

2020 Sonata difference

This is my fourth Sonata. I have loved all others. However, I am not sure I will get another one when my lease is up. The 2020 Sonata rides very low to the ground. You feel like you are lower than all cars. It is difficult to get into and out of when if you are tall. The passenger seat does not get higher so if you are short, you will feel like you are riding in a hole. They took away the eyeglass holder so there is nowhere to store your sunglasses. However, it still performs well and the top edition has lots of bells and whistles which we love,

Would get another brand vehicle

A few problems that I have experienced with the 2020 Sonata I would not recommend it had issues with the paint, oil change light kept going off when it was not close to being due automatic breaking would occur when driving on the freeway self steering only works when driving straight

Interior is too small and uncomfortable for me

The car is difficult to get in and out of. The seats are uncomfortable and the head and leg room are not adequate. Overall it’s a decent vehicle but probably will not be leasing another one in the future.

Good

Good............... ..Mo sunglass storage, poor quilty controll befor delivery ensuring car was in peferfict co dition. Would not recomend perticular service manager. And do not like sales person talking to me like I don't understand the numbers. We agreed on a price, tried to over sell me, and I walked out, but eventually received price I wanted. Wasted 3 hours of my time.

My 2020 Hyundai Sonata

Love it, but small improvements could me made. Like brake pads and rotors could be better. Car could use more horsepower and torque. Car could have a bit bit better sounding exhaust and dual tip. Going to miss this generation hyundai sonata.

Lack of responsive

Only have this car less than one month and not very good responsive and when I was driving someone try to cut in front of me. There’s no break reaction. Same as the new car that I got for 2023. I am not satisfied at all.

Item' s not covered under warranty, but was not.

Nice car. The problem is with the warranty. Also a problem with service, rude. Tried to show the customer was stupid. Service tried to tell us the broken vanity mirror was caused by "OUT SIDE INFLUNCE" As if we paid over $25,000.00 cash, tear tins up so they can be repaired can be repaired under warranty. We were also told the discoloration.of the steering wheel was caused by hand lotion on our hands, We do not use hand lotion.

Big Improvement, But That Wind Noise

The 2020 Sonata is a huge improvement over the older model. The design can be polarizing, but since buying my 2020 Limited a couple weeks ago, it has slowly grown on me, and I love it. The amount of tech included can't be beat for the price, and the interior styling is easily best in class. The only issue I have with the car is the wind noise at highway speeds. The new Palisade seems to have this issue as well, and I hope Hyundai eventually comes up with a solution and offers a fix, because the amount of wind noise at any speed over 45MPH is unacceptable. Comes through both front doors and some through parts of the front dash as well. It's rather unfortunate, because road noise on the other hand is very low.

2019 Limited 2.0 T

I had my 2019 4 months now 3400 miles very pleased mileage performance looks quality I average 23 to 26 around town 88 octane One Trip To AZ 400 miles going came up with 35 MPG at the end 65 to 75 most of the way coming back high winds finish with 30 MPG plenty of power when needed seats were great I drove 90% of the trip Sirius radio very good very little WIND noise heating & cooling great including seats love the looks price very reasonable low 30's I leased it for 3 years will do service every 5000 miles so far no complaints !

2020 Sonata

After driving a 2015 Genesis on which the steering malfunctioned at expressway speed and was Totaled. We looked at Sonata and found the 2020 limited was good for us. We wanted an Azera but we are happy with this car. Pretty comparable to the Azera we owned.

My 2020 Sonata Review

Overall I'm happy with the vehicle despite the sales process being less than perfect. The gas mileage I'm getting is 30mpg combined (no city driving) which is less than what I was expecting. Noticeable wind noise from the drive side window/door. All that said, the features and styling for the price I feel is an above average value.
