2019 vs. 2025

I had to get a new car since my 2019 Hyundai Tucson was involved in the 2024 flood. I'm not as happy with the 2025 model Tuscon as I was with 2019. I have no seat warmers, the hold brake (at stops) doesn't always hold, the radio system is harder to access right station, the take-off is slower than the 2019.

Not responsive to acceleration. Even in Sport-mode with IGS turned off I have trouble getting the vehicle into the intersection 80 feet from my driveway without losing momentum. This problem improves if the car has been driven for a number of miles. Also, the 4WD Lock button does not seem to activate.

Interior design

Back gate opens on it's own had to disable it. No locks on glove compartment. Pockets on the doors are too small. Back seat door pockets too small. Back seat cup holders are too small. Only one pocket on passenger back seat none on driver side. AC vents are hard to adjust to comfortable directions. Driver lumbar support too hard to adjust. Headlights do not time out, causing the battery to die. Cruise control can't be used if the driver is wearing sunglasses (dumb).

Great purchase

The Tucson is a very nice vehicle. The fuel mileage is good and it has a comfortable ride. We do find the controls a bit complicated. Overall we are very happy with our Tucson. This is our fifth Hyundai and they have all been great vehicles.

First Hyundai

Gas mileage isn’t as good as my Subaru suv and the tank is smaller so I have to fill up more often. Only an inconvenience when taking long trips. The ride is smooth and very comfortable. Lots of head room for taller people.
