Very Happy!!

Great car very quiet! Great gas mileage. We purchased the car from a friend. She needed a truck and gave it to us for a great price. The car is super quiet. I am super happy with the miles per gallon!!

2001 Prius

We were the only owners for 262,000 miles. We only replaced the computer once and the hybrid battery once for expensive items. The engine and transmission were exceptional. We rarely needed service such as brakes, battery or CV joints. We let the car down it never let us down.

A Great Car

I've had this car for over 18 years and it just keeps going strong. Toyota cars in general are known for reliability, but this goes to the limit of satisfaction. Mind you, I've had to have the battery and computer control system replaced over the years, but the car itself has had very little unusual maintenance, and thus has been an economical choice.

Great fun car to drive

This is my first Hybrid vehicle. Takes a little getting used too. The engine is slow. It also feels like it shuts off when you are waiting at a traffic light almost as if you threw it in neutral. It's small but comfortable. The windshield is big so vision is great.

Most reliable car I've ever owned in 40+ years of driving

Our 2001 Toyota Prius has been going strong for 16 years. It had some minor issues with fuel injectors and the throttle sensor early in its life that were covered under warranty but that is all that has needed service beyond routine maintenance. Even the brakes are still original. The hybrid batteries are still going. We struggled with the low rolling resistance Bridgestone tires that would last more than 20,000 miles at the beginning, but after a couple of sets of tires we switched to first Dunlop, then Michelin tires with a slight penalty in gas mileage but with significantly greater durability and traction in wet and icy conditions. I don't recommend the early Prius for long road trips as the seats are not the most comfortable, but for commuting to work or shopping around town it is hard to beat for ease of driving, parking, and fuel economy.

Awesome fun to drive

A remarkably frugal car, the 2001 Prius inspires me to do the best that I can to increase my average gas mileage. The Prius has taught me to slow down before stop lights and to limit my speed to control fuel usage. I find it comfortable to drive for hours at a time and exceptionally quiet both moving and stopped (idling). I find visibility to be the best of any car i have ever driven. Admittedly, this is no sporty car, but it could surprise you.
