Good strong truck but with some reliability ussures

The truck has served me well. I've had this truck for 14 years and have no reason to want to trade up. However, at 20K miles just out of warranty the spring hose clamp on the top radiator hose snapped causing the hose to blow off and bring me to an immediate halt on HW 70 in the middle of Utah. At 25k miles both power window mechanisms failed two weeks apart. I rarely ever used the power windows preferring the AC or heater.

Would not recoommend!

Do a little research and you will find the 5.4L V8 is poorly designed and a POS!!! Since I have 95 characters to go on this review I will continue with the motor issues... It WILL need MAJOR service at 100k miles... costing $2500 or more.. The internal motor parts on the front end were designed with nylon... yes, F@#KING NYLON!!! They will break down on you. If you decide to purchase a vehicle with this motor, GO TALK TO AN OLD SCHOOL mechanic who has some history with repairs... they MAY, JUST MAY be able to provide you with some recommendations to prolong the life of the motor...

Some of the mechanical problems I have encountered with this truck are issues that a lot of people have with this truck that Ford should pay for like spark plugs, window regulators cam sensor problems

Greatest truck I ever had

I bought my F150 new in 2004. It has never given me a moment's trouble and I couldn't be happier with it. I've always had Fords and always had trucks. It has performed at whatever i ask of it - just like you'd expect from a Ford.

Older, but like New

The vehicle has 4 wheel drive, an extended cab and all the basics we need. We were looking for something for farm use and for hauling grandkids. It was the perfect choice for us and our salesman was very helpful with explaining things and giving details about the previous owners, and CARFAX report. It was a pleasant experience and we are looking forward to having it for years to come.

Looks good, falls apart

At 127k I needed a new engine after I just spent almost a grand chancing this 5.4 liter spark plugs. 6 grand later maybe I will make it to 200k. Yeah right....

Great Truck

First truck I've ever owned, had it for 2 1/2 years. Does everything I ask of it - towing, hauling, moving, getting me back and forth to work. A trailer with a mini excavator has been the only thing I towed where I noticed the truck had to work and break a bit of a sweat. Thankfully I only towed it about 15 miles tops. The 4 wheel drive really impressed me in the snow! And I considered myself pretty good without it. It'll never win any fuel economy trophies (not even coasting downhill in neutral with a backwind), but then again that's not why I bought it.

I have put 20,000. In repairs into this truck over last 167000 miles. Thats not a value .

My Ford review

I really cannot find to much fault with my truck. Bought the 2004 F150 Lariat in 2005 with 52000 miles. While the spark plug replacement at 115000 miles was expensive I did get a partial reimbursement from Ford Motors. had to replace the entire timing chain assembly on the front of the engine because the chain guide tensioners broke! Guess the plastic they used to save a few cents did not stand up to normal operating conditions. Other than that after 13 years rust is only a problem on the body lower behind the two rear doors. Very happy with my investment in comfort and reliability!

My Baby

I have owned several pickups over the years mostly F-150's. This truck is by far my favorite. I've had several offers but none so far would even make me think of parting with my (BABY)!

I have been very happy with this truck. I just passed 300,000 miles and have owned it for over 10 years. I have had very few repairs.

I LOVE this truck!

Ford haters beware! I was once a Chevy girl! I purchased this truck slightly used with low mileage and have subsequently put it through the ringer. I've put over 100,000 miles on it hauling horses and kids to shows and festivals. I'm HARD on this truck! It is aesthetically pleasing, a comfortable ride, and affordable to maintain. I've never had to do any work on it that wasn't a part of regular maintenance.
