I still LOVE my '06 Odyssey Touring
After researching the available choices for a minivan which would fit most of my needs for the foreseeable future back in 2006, I decided that the Odyssey would be the right one for me. Each day since I got it has proven how right I was. It has consistently been a pleasure to drive, comfortable for me and all of my passengers in these year; and the ones who have driven it have all found it to be as nice as I have.
It sounds silly to feel an emotional bond with such an inanimate object, but after my husband and my dog, my Odyssey is dear to me. I've had many cars throughout the years, including Ford Fairlane convertible Chevy Impala, Corvair, Corvette, and an assortment of other equally satisfying convertibles, but the Odyssey is like a compilation of the best of all of them. It's an excellent travel vehicle, with road stability and still can move fast when needed to get out of a bad spot. Not exactly wheelies, but almost.
My only complaint, because it is the Touring model, was that it came with the Michelin RunFlat tires which made it ride hard and reduced gas mileage along with only 36,000 miles to a set. Those tires belong somewhere else, but not on an Odyssey. I currently have 124,000+ miles on it and expect to keep it longer. If the newer models have more bells and whistles, that's OK. I don't need more than I have now. Anything else can be added individually with today's tech goodies. My Ody is an old friend of value and I treasure it as such.
