great car

This car is the perfect size for me, and has incredible gas mileage. The Sonata was a bit too big, and the older Elantras were junky. The only downside is that it does not ride well on 'washboard'-type roads/bumps, as it tends to slide sideways a bit. Otherwise, the car's magnificent.

Engine: runs rough even when idiling. Can do with a 7 speed transmission! Suspensions rear should be independent. To improve handling and comfort. Front suspension is hard. Would like to see an AWD version with 1.8 L turbo

Great value

A good car especially since they replaced the engine after 78000 miles. Drives nicely. Comfortable to drive. I have over 119000 miles on the vehicle.

Great Reliable Commuter Car

I have owned my Elantra for over 6 years now. It has been a very reliable commuter car (I drive 75 miles a day round trip). All issues encounter other than maintenance items were fixed under warranty. Very decent Gas Mileage (It gets around 28 mpg average for me driving in heavy traffic). Could have more comfortable seats and a quieter\smoother ride. I think some of these items have been addressed in newer models.

Elantra Experience

Bought the Elantra for our in-town and short trip car. We have been very happy with our purchase and would have given it better marks in quality and reliability if we didn't have to have the front axle replaced.

great car for me

Perfect size with beautiful styling (imho) - awesome mileage, but still a peppy little 4-cyl. engine. The only downside i notice is the suspension: not good at all on rough or bumpy surfaces.

Elantra

Elantra is a comfortable car that has space for items and people. The car gets pretty good gas mileage and it great to use when going on long road trips. I have taken my car several times across many states and feel comfortable with it's reliability while on the road.

2012 Elentra

It's a nice, streamlined vehicle. It's comfortable and gets good gas mileage. Only complaints are, it's lacking a little in the power side of life (which is ok...it's not like a bought a sports car) and it can have some severe blind spots depending on your height. I'm also waiting to see how the build quality pans out. It's relatively low mileage and already needed injectors flushed and now needs spark plugs done.

So far so good. Something I am not happy with is the paint job. Above the windscreen is a defect that q&a was supposed to pick up. I also hate the carpets. It's like valcro. Really hard to vacuum the carpets. Rear suspension should be independent!

My limited edition Elantra is very reliable . Runs great on gas. And when I need to save gas, just press the Eco button... Feel in live with the back up camera, leather seats, and seat warmers. Amongst Other Things.

Purchased the car used with about 8k mikes and have had it for 4 yrs. I've had some minor issues that were covered under the warranty, like a peeling steering wheel, emissions issues. They gave me no issues to do the repairs and the regular service is about all I do. I like the service dept, as they are always polite and courteous
