A joy to drive.

I bought my Elantra in 2011. Since then I have driven it 165,000 miles. It is just such an easy car to drive. The only thing bad is, the steering tends to get sticky on long drives where you do not move the wheel much. In researching it, I have found it is a common issue with electric steering. Other than that, the car is quite roomy inside for someone that is over 6 feet tall. I can go on long trips and stay comfortable. My other car (not a Hyundai) makes my back and legs hurt after about 4 hours. I am hoping to keep my Elantra till 250,000 miles or more.

Elantra is okay

My biggest complaint is the road noise I hear in the cabin. Talking is done at a higher volume with the person next to me. I like the cockpit panel and gas mileage and comfortable seats as well as the interior storage and big arm rest.

Average buy. Nothing special. I would choose another car if I knew more at the time of purchase.. see cons. Comfort is solo important!

Great car with one exception.

For the past 4 years, there has been a random grinding noise on the front passenger side of the vehicle. I have taken the car in four times to solve the problem. Since the noise occurs randomly, mostly in short bursts, the problem source has been evasive. I was assured, after testing, that safety was not an issue, and the noise would need to be constant in order to solve the situation. My concern is that down the road it may happen to turn into a major deal, and the warranty will expire, leaving me with a costly fix.

Very nice little car a bit underpowered, but shiftronic gear makes the difference, however some vibration from the air bags are annoying at times when the road is not smooth.

No spare tire

I was not told when I bought this car that it did not come with a spare, only a can of air or something, until it was needed. Think every car, regardless of make or model, need to have one. I hear that this was changed in newer models.

It good but some stuff is just plain.

Sit are uncomfortable for long rides and we have issues with the air bag spring and they took a while to fix issues they lie about mpg and car is just Ok but could be better in wet conditions and winter the car is really slippery in the rain or in wet dirt it can get slip and get stuck in the mud very easy thats some of the most details but every ower has different problems.

Gets great mileage and handles easy, good pickup when needed. 103,600 miles and stood hoing strong. Oil changes & tires & new windshield wiper pump - all the service needed.

Fine car but disappointing gas mileage

This car is comfortable, performs well, and is attractive. However...we get only 21 miles to a gallon (the rating is 40) and that is TERRIBLE. Doubt I'll ever buy another Hyundai because of the HORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE.
