Buy new or don't buy it at all

I bought the 2013 Hyundai in May of 2018 with only 55k miles & we've had little issue after little issue. $300 here, $350 there is becoming a hassle. If you buy a Hyundai, buy it NEW or don't buy it at all. 55k miles isn't a lot but this car drives like it was previously used as a rental car.

Charm

I love my 2013 Elantra limited enough to keep it for 10 years. We are at 6 and only 4 to go! It feels like a luxury car with all the upgrades. The lumbar support helps with my back issues. It’s worth upgrading to the limited?

Review

I have been happy with my Elantra. It is a 2013, it gets good gas mileage and to date I have not had any real problems with it. They are always really great when I bring it in for service. The one thing was the original tires were not good on snow or ice so I had to replace them after the first year.

Great little car for the money!

This is a very reliable, well engineered, reasonably priced, well equipped small car. The limited has all the features of a larger higher priced vehicle. This car is probably one of the best vehicles I have owned.

Love My Elantra

I have driven my Elantra for almost 6 years and to me it still seems new. Love the gas mileage out on the road making trips more fun, less gas. Around town a bit less but I live where there are lots of hills and a bit of traffic. Would buy it again!!

Excellent except for trunk lid opening by itself

I love my Hyundai Elantra. One major problem with Elantra is the electric trunk lid constantly pops open by itself. On my Elantra I had to pull the fuse out to stop it. I rented a 2018 Elantra the truck lid popped up 20 times during my week rental. I see Elantras in parking lots with trunk lids open.

Hyundai Elantra 2013 ENGINE FAILURE AT 62K

Engine failure due to cheaping out on quality parts to save a buck. Thankfully I have the 100,000 mile drive train warranty, but I don't buy a car expecting it to eat shit and die at 62,000 miles. Not buying another hyundai anytime soon.

Best car I have owned

Mileage and gas are the top reasons for my car. I drive at least 44 miles a day to and from work, which within a year has taken me over the regular amount of miles annually for any of my former vehicles. The wear and tear of my vehicle has held up with no major work done on it and for that reason I plan to get a new Elantra in the next two years. Engines go out before 100k miles

Hyundai Elantras between the years of 2011-2014 are prone to needing an engine before 100k miles and are even recalled in Canada with full money back. American Hyundai refuses to take responsibility for their faulty parts and are screwing people out of half the cost of their vehicle. I will never buy from Hyundai again.

A great car for our college-aged daughter

We purchased the 2013 Elantra Limited in 2012 for our daughter to use while away in college. The Elantra drives beautifully, and it has been a very dependable car. Besides the bent axle and tire replacements due to wicked potholes near campus, the Elantra has given us absolutely no problems! Outstanding vehicle!

We love our 2013 Elantra

This car is our second Elantra. It is the Limited version and offers more value than others in its class. We drive it on long hauls (38 mpg!!!) and of course on our daily short trips (27 mpg). It has now 60.000 miles. We drive it mostly in Eco mode. It is reliable (huge factor), comfortable, has impressive acceleration in standard mode (if you need it), great brakes and excellent front seats.. Steering is very precise. Cargo space is absolutely fine for a family of three.Cabin noise is low so you can even enjoy classic music if you want. The navigation system is o.k., but could be more intuitive. Especially here in Cape Coral with lots of extremely similar street names it can get somehow frustrating. Luckily I can use a better navy system on my cell phone if I have problems. The rear camera is a big help during parking. But it should have a rear window wiper! Within the next 20.000 mile we will be checking for a newer Elantra model.

I am addicted

Great little cars good gas milage features and smooth ride and just a noce little car. I recommend a hyundai . I love the elantra line. Juat as so they dont get to ugly. It seems like the 2017 was ugly had one but dodnt like.

Looks nice but not as advertised

Vehicle looks nice and has nice accessories but the gas mileage is WAY below that advertised - I average 21 to 23 mpg combined highway and city driving. If it was just city driving 19 to 21 omg. That is ridiculous for an economy car that advertised combined driving mpg in the low 30s. Not very stable in rounding corners and freeway interchange turns. Suspension is questionable, if hit a bump while in a sweeping turn it feels as if car loses traction with road and jumps to the left or right. Problems with interior features such as gas cover release and steering wheel audio adjustments. That being said you get a lot of GREAT features for relatively little added cost.

Remember old Timex ads?

The old "It takes a licking but keeps on ticking" campaign? Same thing goes here. This brave little car has rolled over large rocks, hit potholes, been through hailstorms, sandblasted by dump trucks, had soda spilled on it, carried overripe Girl Scouts home from camp, and had an elderly dog drool on the backseat. But it keeps on rolling, up to 142,000 and still going. No major issues. Most of my repairs have been self-inflicted. (See above comment re: rock.) Six years later, I still get between 38-41 mph. Three sets of tires, two batteries, and a new set of brake pads later -- I'm ready to put another 100,000 on it.

I love my car!

I was recently able to drive a new Accent on a loaner basis. Of course, it had an automatic transmission and several features, like automatic lights and the back-up camera, which my car does not. I cannot emphasize how GREAT it was to be back in my standard transmission Elantra!! The opportunity to try a different, newer model convinced me how lucky I am to have the car I do. We'll be together for many years!

Elantra Satisfied

I love my 2013 Elantra. The warranty was great and the vehicle has been reliable. The service has been good, for the most part, and based on my experience I would definitely keep Hyundai on my possibility list if I were to buy another vehicle. I would improve on the glass quality from the 2013’s. Also, I have had trouble with the warning light systems. The fuel light and tire pressure light both have malfunctioned and have caused me numerous returns to get the problems resolved. Overall I have been pleased with the service and product.

I really love my Elantra. It is roomy and I really like the limited. It is fully loaded and leather seats. I especially like that all four seats are heated. My friend can't believe that one. I get very good gas mileage also.

my experiebce

the car has been basically free of problems while i have had it. the biggest problem is the gas mileage it get is very low. it drives nice and is comfortable but moving around in it to do cleaning etc. is difficult and there is no room for a handbag

Excellent little commuter vehicle

I have to do a lot of traveling back and forth for work and my family vehicle is not very cost efficient or all the traveling I have to do. The Elantra gets excellent mileage and its cheaper than some of the hybrids I have seen on the market.
