Below average

Not what I expected in a Hyundai vehicle. Had two others prior to this model and it is well below average. Also have two Elantras now and both have same poor performance. Do not recommend this model.

No noise suppression....

Too much noise inside car.. only have 23,000 miles on the car and I need to replace my tires already, to me that is excessive wear in such a short period of time and the noise factor is unbelievable. Please fix this.

Disposable parts

I have been driving for 50 years. I have only owned a few vehicles. I have never had a vehicle where the battery only lasted 2 years. And now they tell me I had some kind of gel battery and wanted need to pay over $300 for a battery and then to pay to have put in. My last Santa Fe the battery lasted until the car was crashed and that was 12 years. I can't believe that companies produce this kind of junk

Disappointed

Since I purchased a 2016 Elantra there have been major rear end issues. Replaced numerous parts, but no improvement. Still shifts to the side when going over bumps and ride is extremely hard. Had a 2011, loved it. Not so much with the 2016. Very disappointed.

The vehicle was to small and to top it off it came with no spare tire!!

I have had nothing but problems with my Elantra and it has dropped in value by half of what I paid for it after 2 years. I am now way upside down in it and these Elantras did not come with spare tires???? I have taken it back several times and always reassured that they will take care of the problem. Unfortunately they never did and now when I take it to try to trade it in they offer me nothing. I have been very patient with them but now I just feel like I have been given the run around and taken advantage of! So I was very unhappy with my purchase and still am! I made the mistake of trading in my 2009 Hyundai Sonata that I bought from Hyundai of Las Vegas who are amazing by the way. I will never be back to ABC Hyundai horrible service and lies! Once I can pay off the negative equity on the Elantra I will be back to Hyundai of Las Vegas because they are honest and have great customer service. A customer should never walk away feeling unhappy about there purchase especially when it cost 25000 dollars!!!!!

Lemon type issues from day one

The car is nice looking by appearance however thier is a canon leak that has been thier from day one that dealerships have not been able to identify and the car has a sluggish star issue from time to time

Horrible ride quality

I’ve never driven a vehicle that rides worse than this one. Wasn’t noticeable on the smooth roads during test drive, but I’ve regretted my purchase ever since (and have only put about 20k miles on it in 4 years because I hate driving it so much). The slightest bump or ridge in the road causes the vehicle to jump. Does not feel safe, to the point I will not drive it during heavy rain or slippery winter conditions, where a jump or a skid could cause total loss of control. Have asked service to look at it several times and I’m always told that’s just how they’re made. 2 stars for features and appearance. Would NOT recommend and will likely never buy Hyundai again.

Not impressed with quality at all

I purchased a certified pre owned with 21k miles on it 4 months ago, and have already been to the dealership for repairs more than I ever was the entire time I owned my Toyota. The quality of this vehicle it just not there. One day after I got it, the antenna cover broke off. The rear speakers were blown, the front breaks squeal, and now I'm noticing that the driver's side window motor struggles if there's any water on the window when I raise or lower it. It's basically only a commuter car for front passengers only, because if you put an adult in the back, the engine lags and performance is greatly reduced. There is a pretty bad blind spot up front as well where the windshield frame meets the door. I also noticed that on the hood their seem to be spots of today under the clear coat, this really concerns me. I am happy with fuel mileage, but am pretty much disappointed with this choice. I wish I didn't buy it. I'd like to note that my salesman and the service department has been very good, I have no issues with them. I just feel like I need a standing appointment on Tuesday mornings, because there's a lot of repairs.

Ok

I’m very upset that my air conditioning stopped working right after I went passed my mileage for my warranty. Because I have so much negative equity I have to be stuck with it. Also the sound system sucks. I always try to turn it up louder but not a good sound system.

Lots of great features but not that realiable

Once I reversed in the drive mode and backed into other car. The maintenance can't duplicate the problem. I am not concerned but frustrated to see the scratches on my brand new car.

Didn't have a lot of choice.

My old car was totalled (through no fault of my own). I did not intend to replace it for at least 5 more years, so this was not a happy situation to begin with. I was totally unprepared. My daughter and son-in-law have had 4 Hyundais and highly recommended them. I have never owned a non-American car before. I have never even made car payments before. Was hoping to have the total amount at hand. I had not done any comparisons or made any lists of exactly what I wanted on a new car. I was not car shopping. But I desperately needed a car. That's all she said.

Not so amazing

When I first got this vehicle it was great but the more I Drive it the more I realize how not great it really is. The workmanship is not up to par with today's standards and the more I Drive it the more it feels like it's going to fall apart.

Not for vertically challenge person

The car is good for normal person not for vertically challenge. Engine makes a clicking noise when you starts the car and it's running for 15 minutes. The clicking noise disappear once you starts driving. The build of the car is good but the front window (driving and passenger frame) not enough view to see the side cars when you're driving. I feel like I don't have the full view of the car next to me and not knowing if they are going to change lane.

I loved my 2001 Elantra the best I bought a 2007 Sonata We liked it but it wasn't black.

I traded my 2016 Elantra in on a 2015 black Sonata and I love it.
