Hissing sound?

Hi, my 2017 Elantra makes a whistling sound anytime I come to stop and accelerate. I’ve had this issue since the very first day and the dealership keeps saying it’s nothing. Anyone else has the same issue?

Excellent Value, Great MPG - Some Concern with Exterior Paint Durability

Hyundai Elantra is a great value for a smaller sedan. We are getting over 40 MPG on the highway and about 30+ around town. It has a quiet cabin interior and the media controls are great with Apple's CarPlay. Air conditioner works great for our hot Florida summers. Overall, we're very happy with the vehicle but we are experiencing an issue with some peeling paint on the front driver panel by the windshield at 34K miles. Dealer did a great job taking care of the issue, but I'm very concerned with the rest of the paint since Hyundai only provides a 36K mile warranty on the pain (even though they provide a 5-year, 60K warranty bumper-to-bumper and 100K powertrain).

Not enough leg room

I like the size of the car but don't like the seating arrangement. With the size of the exterior, I would think you could design the front and rear seats to be more roomy. Getting a toddler into and out of a car seat is a real challenge in the back seat. Seats also are not comfortable. I would like to see the Elantra with AT LEAST a 17" wheel base. My Elantra has 17" wheels, but I understand the newest model DOES NOT come with a 17" wheel. Even with a 17 inch wheel base, it is sometimes difficult to get out of the car and I don't like feeling as if I am sitting on the ground. If Hyundai could design the Elantra with an 18" wheel base and maintain good mileage (29-40 mpg), I wouldn't even consider switching to any other vehicle/manufacturer. This is my 4th Elantra and the blind spot has been improved but still needs some adjustment. I continue to lease the Elantra because of the warranty and because it is the only car I can afford to lease.

2017 Hyundai Elantra

Had this Elantra from new for 36 months. This car was capable of cruising at 100 mph. Drove 13,000 miles and only had to replace the battery one month before getting new 2019 Elantra.(probably due to running AC, radio and heater on short trips)

2017 Elantra Limited

I like the car, but they were a couple of things. I bought the limited thinking I was going to get memory seats and told that it had it, but in fact the limited does not. Also, I was told that I had blue link and never told that I had to pay for it after one year until the purchase of the car was complete. I was also told by my sales person that I had driver assist. After I brought the car home and I was looking through my manual for how to use it, I called him and he told me that that model did not have it. I think on the doors instead of hard plastic it could be a little bit cushions on the top to rest one’s arm. The Bluetooth system works very poorly. So I’m a little bit disillusioned. I probably will not buy another Hyundai after this.

I'm very happy with My Elantra. I especially enjoy it's smooth ride. There are only two things that bother me about it. It's hard getting in & out of. I personally have a hard time when I pull into somewhere because of the way the hood drops down.

Vehicle ratings

I like be my car but hate the bucket seats. So I’m constantly finding myself covering the seats with sheets or chair covers. I wish I’d gotten an SUV, but I only shied away from getting one because I knew they were more expensive and I thought it’d be a gas guzzler.

Headlights issues for elantra

In rainy conditions its a worst experience to drive hyundai elantra 2017 basic models ,very low light and nothing visible properly even the white lines not visible in rainy conditions and even fog conditions

Good vehicle for what you want.

Like I said the ride is too soft really weird. But still a good car. Car price is a bit high considering you can get a Sonata for a few thousand more. The value edition is a good way to go, but I really love the Sonata not the 18 19 but the 17 and now the 2020 looks good.

Dependable Vehicle

Nothing is perfect, but I love my car. With routine maintenance, I find this car reliable and dependable. There’s plenty of room in the front and back seats. The trunk is spacious. I’d recommend this car to anyone wanting a simple and stylish car.

I love it

For what I can afford, my Elantra is exceptional. It is beautiful with its metallic blue/teal color and the expression on its "face." It is comfortable, with quickly available A.C. or heat. I appreciate all of its perks, like the back-up guide and Sirius. I feel all the bumps in the road, but I guess I would have to have a more expensive model to have a totally smooth ride. I love my car and look forward to having it for a few more years.

Excellent gas saver:

I purchased my Elantra to maximize my fuel economy during my commute to work, it worked, I average 35mpg with ease. I enjoy how sporty the engine is for a 4-cylinder and the backup camera is an excellent feature for a vehicle this price.

20147 ELANTRA Pop Package

Good reliability and feels safe, looks good and nice features (CarPlay) - we choose the Elantra over the Civic because of engine, fuel economy and value. The Honda was a bit more comfortable, but we preferred the features and straight forward design of the Elantra.

Fun car to drive

This car is easy and fun to drive. It is a compact car so if you have more than one person riding with you for a long period of time in the backseat they will not be comfortable. It gets great gas mileage as long as you are doing the speed limit.

This Elantra is a great buy for all the extras included in the MSRP, besides the great mileage,( I've averaged nearly 40 mpg in the ECO mode going the posted speed limit) a sunroof, heated front seats, electric adjustable driver seat, smart side mirrors, apple bluetooth media, and navigation system, duel cabin controlled a/c and heating system, smart trunk etc.

Enjoy my Elantra

I enjoy the great gas mileage, the driving experience, and the great wealth of standard features on the Elantra. i wish the car had a little more solid feel to the materials - in the seats (padding, fabrics), some of the controls, and the paints and fascias.

2017 Elantra Value Edition

I like the car. It is worlds better than my previous 2013 Elantra GT. It gets better mileage, has more power when needed. The touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple Car Play works great. Rides quiet. My ONLY gripe is with the seat bolstering; it's too exaggerated for my tastes, and bugs me on longer trips.
