Attractive and Smart but Needs Improvement

This vehicle has Impeccable styling, is feature-rich and offers gas mileage and range that have exceeded expectations. While it is quieter than previous Elantra editions, you will notice road noise to some degree. My big issue is with the ride. I drive 25,000-30,000, miles per year mixed city and suburban conditions. From my standpoint, it does not have a big-car feel, indeed, rather the reverse. You will feel far more bumps than not. The jury is still out on whether this vehicle will prove long-term dependable. I have had a couple of issues already (tires, brakes most notably, using a shop/mechanic with whom I have done business for 17+ years) that have made me question whether I will keep this vehicle for the long term. Overall, this edition is a step forward in certain areas but still leaves something to be desired for the price.

Service

Since I started driving the vehicle it has had a little low in the takeoff. Then the service engine light or check engine light came on. I took it to Victoria and there was no history in it. I had to make an appointment to get told this. I took it to Katy whenever the engine light was on and they checked it had to order a part and I got it back in the same condition that it was the end to start with. After saying that they had a item in the history That they figured it was a ghost.

Nice car but disappointing fuel economy

It said I was supposed to get around 30 mpg city but averaged around 22 mpg realistically. This was very disappointing to me as I had to spend more than I expected on fuel and this was not something I thought I would worry about.

Reliable

The interior surfaces are easily scratched. It is very dependable as far as cranking. The vehicle makes a squeaking sound on rough roads. The style is great. All the lights still work. The trunk is a little too small.

Beautiful car, same ongoing frustrating issues

Have had issues with car shaking every few months. Engine light keeps turning on and off while shaking and doesn't do it when I take it in for service, they say that information doesn't get recorded. Ongoing issue with bluetooth. Keeps disconnecting and connecting while driving and taking on phone or while listening to my music. It disconnects any random time while the car is on. Tried everything, reset, delete and reconnect, even changed phones. Issue not fixed.

The buyer should have the choice on the type of entertainment sustem not the manufacturer. I had to purchase a portable cd player and the system will not support this except in mono. This is a disappointment to me as I enjoy listening to cds in the car. unfortunately, this model does not have an available cd player. This is a big disappointment as far as I am concerned.

fun to drive, excellent gas mileage, roomy interior sometimes weird electrical quirks, clock disappears rough shifting from second to third when the engine is cold overall a good deal, but not quite excellent build quality as Honda

What can I say. Overall I’m happy with my vehicle I think it’s a great car. What’s the exception of the collision braking system problem that I have had. Dealer informs me that there’s nothing they can do since I can’t find falt.When testing it. And refuse to prove to me that it works. Therefore it must be working as designed. I’ve had two years and have given up on having it repaired. I got stuck this time but will not purchasing another vehicle from that dealer. Most likely will not be another Hyundai.

My car review

I tried going from having had 4 Sonatas, to attempting a smaller Elantra. Do not like it, just too much road noise and feeling every bump in the road. Otherwise, it's a nice car, good gas mileage, easy handling, good acceleration, no other problems with it. Just an older lady trying to get better gas mileage, when I should have gone for more comfort.

2017 Elantra Sport

The Elantra Sport is a good value for the price point this sedan competes in. Pros: Great gas mileage, peppy 4 cylinder, good handling. Cons: Noisy interior, cheap seating and instrument panel. The exterior is prone to front end damage due to extremely low stance.

2017 Elantra lease.

I feel the Elantra a good vehicle but I would not choose again. First, not easy for me to get in, too low. Secondly, not having a rear wiper is really detrimental to bad weather driving. Third, front fender too low to pavement. Just turning a corner has caused a scrape. 2

2017 White

After two years the paint on the hood and roof began to flake off. I was told this was a known issue with white cars in particular. Hyundai according to the dealer seems resistant to honoring the paint warranty.

Stylish and excellent MPG vehicle with a few improvements needed to be a world class sedan. Road noise and transmission take fun out of the drive. The interior is cheap looking and material is subpar.

My Elantra

Great gas mileage and easy handling. I will not get a Elantra for the following reasons: Too low to get in and out of comfortably: difficult to judge distance due to style of front and back end curves; noisy interior; people flash at me thinking my brights are on when they are not; somewhat bumpy ride.

2017 Elantra

The vehicle ride is average. I'm very concerned riding on Manhattan Island especially when on 3rd Avenue begrudgingly known as "pothole avenue" which is the route I take in the morning to work. Definitely gotta look into another route. Simple car for simple folk like me. Sometimes, I feel as if I'm in a tin box. Vehicle doesn't feel strong but it serves the purpose to point A or B. Hope I never have to review the airbag portion of this review. Otherwise, it's just AOK. getting to points A, B, and C safely.

Nice vehicle

Nice vehicle, runs very good . Don’t have any problems with the vehicle. Very hard to keep the inside clean. The engine on the vehicle was very nice the brakes so nice the navigation arm doesn’t really work too well .

Not bad for the price,everything works ok,much to much tire and wind noise.No spare tire,which wasn't mentioned at point of sale.Trade in had personal items taken when traded in.Not A D A complient,especially in service areas

2017 Hyundai Elantra SE

My biggest issue with the 2017 is the lighting. The headlights do not have enough brightness and there are no fog lights. Also the windows are not tinted. I had all this on my 2010 . 6 years in the future and I lose these features , that seems backwards.

2017 Hyundai Elantra SE

The 2017 has some new features that my 2010 Elantra did not have, but the basic features are not included on the 2017. My headlights are not as bright and I have no fog lights. The interior is hard to clean and stains easily.

below hyundais usual standards

have owned hyundais before and enjoyed the ownership. This time around not so thrilled. I have had some mechanical issues starting with brakes, then a running condition, now headlights. Seems like a lot for a vehicle with only 45k miles. In regards to the vehicle feel the quality control is poor. blemish in paint paint pealing from armrest. if it was 10 years old maybe ok but was less than 3 not so much.
