Our first Hyundai will not be our last!
I had been looking at purchasing a new car for a couple of years. I have always owned Toyota products, so that was my first consideration, but I was put off by multiple negative experiences by dealership staff (commission motivated) and prices. My parents had recently purchased a Hyundai and they were really happy with it, so I decided to visit the dealership, which was a very positive experience from start to finish.
The Elantra was exactly what I was looking for (except not a hybrid/EV), but I am looking at the Kona EV coming out in 2019. I wanted a vehicle that would offer great gas mileage and many of the newer tech features that I love, like a backup camera, blind spot warning, USB plug, Bluetooth connection for navigation and media access, and I wanted cloth seats. The Elantra has a lot of room inside and the interior is designed well. The truck is roomy and the back seats fold down too. The driver's seat has plenty of adjustment options that allow me to drive comfortably.
I recently took this vehicle on a road trip from Tn to Pa and back and it was a real pleasure to drive. I was able to get 48+ mpg on the interstate! I really appreciated the technology that allows me to make and answer phone calls through my Elantra as it allowed me to stay in contact with my husband and daughter in their vehicles. I also was able to run my Google map phone navigation through my Elantra touchscreen, which is so much more convenient and safer than using my phone alone.
My husband uses this car as a daily commuter car and usually gets around 38-40 mpg on his 20-mile round trip commute.
I enjoyed the 3 month trial of SiriusXM that was included with my Elantra. I also like that I can play music or other audio media from my phone.
I would highly recommend this the Hyundai Elantra to anyone looking for a great vehicle at a great price.
