Sonata problems

I have been complaining for four years and 9 months since I purchased my Sonata of noise and rumblings from the engine. Now they finally are replacing the engine. Thankful that Hyundai is replacing the engine for free. Thank you Hyundai.

No good product,

Had to many problems with the axles had had to change them twice ,now for the 3rd time in a year they need to be change, Hyundai only want to cover half ,of the coast,,it us there product, that is falling, why should I hav ed yo pay, axles every 15 thousand miles no way, my engine was replaced t ok not sounds the same.

Poor vision

Can’t see front of car when pulling to a curb. Seat is in highest position & the side mirrors block my view esp. to the right.Did not realize any of this on the short test drive. No finanes to change.

One model year shy of being great

Love the power, safety and balance of this vehicle. However, the nav app is equivalent to the first iteration of Apple Maps. It's bad, and often asks us to make turns off of overpasses. The 2014 model began using apps, so you could actually use Google Maps and get traffic and reliable directions that would factor in road conditions and closings. It's a great car, it's a stupid machine.

2013 Hyundai Sonata - Full of defects - plan on being at dealership...ALOT

If you explore the internet you will find quite a bit about recalls on the 2013 Hyundai Sonata. I wish I would have read them... I now spend a lot of time using factory warranty and time in rental vehicles

Recalls

Other then the couple recalls that I’ve had on this car and the fact that I think this car was made for a man. The car is low and at times I have trouble seeing at turns and the side mirrors aren’t a help. Not good in the snow, other then that it will do.

a great first car to own

great car, some small issues but overall a good car. good gas mileage, nice roomy cabin. Out side styling is comparable to other brands (Toyota, Nissan) This is a great 1st car for new owners. There are some design defects that can be easily fixed and may have already been corrected as my review is based on 2013 Sonata.

Sonata engine failure

My 2013 Sonata has been a great car, unfortunately, the engine failed at 80,000 miles and had to be replaced. While I like my car, and was pleased that Hyundai fixed it at no cost to me, I am disappointed that nobody informed me of this engine issue. I would not have bought a Hyundai had I known.

Affordable midsize car with average performance

Brought this car expecting a 4-5 year ride. It is not a Accord or A Camry. It had its share of breakdowns and malfunctions but the pesky and persistent one was the low tire pressure light coming on randomly. Over the years it has been serviced by multiple dealers but to this day, the issue remains. I will be moving away from Hyundai for my next car.

Adequate

This car has served me well or five years with no major problems. However three recalls and one pending indicate less tha optimum quality control. My next car was to be a G70 but the KIA Stinger is a superior car.

2013 Sonata

My only complaints are having to replace the front wheel wells as they fell out. I had to pay for what should have been a warranty issue. Secondly, the front seat material wears quickly. All seats should be leather instead of cloth.

very poor gas mileage

The MPH as posted when I purchased the car is not near what the sticker stated. I drive with ECO on, and a good 50% is freeway. I am not heavy on the pedal and slow down well ahead of lights so I don't have to stop fast. Still I get several miles per gallon bellow what was stated. The navigation part of the Blue Link never worked well either.

Not as good as previous models, but still OK

Nice little car, has had some odd issues from manufacturing or engineering processes. Everything till now covered by Hyundai, so props for customer service. Had a wacky steering column problems but dealer covered it under an extended warranty from Hyundai

Good car great gas mileage but has a lot of squeaks and not the best on winter roads haven’t even had it 3 years and the back up camera needs to be replaced should last longer not the most comfortable ride great car for gas economy though

I bought this vehicle used and have had it a little over a year. So far, I've had to put about 1K into it for repairs. Never thought that a reputable dealer who ive bought 3 vehicles would sell me a car needing tires, rotors, brakes and several other "wearable maintenance items" within 1 year. Will not get this vehicle or any other vehicle services at Priority Hyundai in Chesapeake Virginia again!!!

Will never buy a used vehicle again. Don't care how reputable the dealership is. Vehicle maintenance on "wearable items" have cost over 1K so far and have only had itn1 year. Won't buy used again!!! NEVER

2013 Hyundai Sonata

Because I am a short person, the front seats sit too low and do not adjust to a completely comfortable height. Also, the vehicle sits too low to the ground and drags on curbs and gravel when driven too close. The one other thing I have never liked about my car is the contour of the windshield. Before retiring, I drove 26 highway miles one way to work. Often times, I would take a rock to the windshield and it seems often times, I would get a small chip. I have talked to other Hyundai owners and they have told me they have had the same issue.

Too many recalls

This car has had 4 recalls plus a steering issue (covered under warranty) in the almost six years we’ve owned it. While not all recalls were problematic for my particular car each recall requires an appointment and then the car being tied up

Too many recalls

My car has too many recalls im constantly having to put air in front tires and i stay regular with tune ups and oil changes but when im driving up a hill you smell oil but other than that im ok with the car

Car has been dependable and provided good service. Excessive road noise has always been aggravating. Passenger front seat is like setting in a pit. Would not purchase this model again. Did not receive quality we paid for.

Good Vehicle

I like this vehicle. It’s biggest downside is that you can really hear the road inside of the car. Occupants have to speak very loud to hear one another. It gets great gas mileage. I really like the backup camera.
