Very poorly designed seats, uncomfortable drive
I had a 2007 Sonata and the seats were very comfy. I was so pleased with that car, which lasted 305,000 miles, that when it was time to buy a new one, I went back for another Sonata. Unfortunately, I am not pleased with this car at all.
First, the seats are hard. Second, the front seats angle up at the sides and put even more pressure on my hips and legs, as if the hardness wasn't bad enough. Third, the armrest on the driver's side is too close to the seat. So as uncomfortable as the seat is, there's very little room to move my left leg and it gets really cramped. My knee/leg runs into the armrest when I try to move it just to get some relief from the aching of being in that seat. The passenger seat isn't much better, except that since I don't have to drive if I'm in that seat, I can wiggle to other positions, put my feet up on the dash, lay the seat back, etc.
Another problem is that the fabric chosen for seats is not washable. Trying to clean it just leaves more stains.
I used to like the Sonata, and while my complaints are about the seats and fabric, comfort is a huge part of choosing a car. Especially for those who do a lot of driving.
