Another Top Performing Car
This is my 5th Hyundai. We have a 2009 Elantra, 2013 Elantra, 2016 Accent (which we traded a 2011 Accent in on) and now the new 2017 Sonata. The great mileage is one reason we keep buying from Hyundai, but another is they are built really well. We've maintained each car as anyone should, and there is no indication of any mechanical problems. We took the 2013 in for an oil change and they told us of a recall. A week later we had a new transmission and drove a dealer loaner for that week. The only bad thing I can say is the front end under carriage clearance is poor. We all hit parking bars and curbs, scraping the underside. The headlights get dingy with age and the sun visors are wearing out. The two oldest cars have visors that just won't stay up and the cost to replace them is prohibitive. The new Sonata has a sporty feel when you flip the switch from economy to sport, accelerating faster and the steering response is "tighter" but it does take away from the gas mileage.
