Amazing sedan
Hyundai really out did themselves with the 2021 limited sonata. The car has so many amazing features that you just can’t find anywhere else unless you’re looking at luxury vehicles in the 100k price range. I knew that I was going to buy a sedan, so I took a few weeks to sit down and look at everything that was available in the market. I didn’t know much about Hyundai till I found this sonata. I then proceeded to watch a million YouTube videos on the car and I began to compare other sedans and no other car compared to the sonata limited. When it came to features and comfort and looks and uniqueness, no other car came even close. I am a big tech type of guy, and the sonata literally blew my mind for the amount of technology the car offers at that price range. No Toyota, no Honda, no anything even came close to comparison. I even went as far as comparing it to some Lexus, and Audi, BMW etc and even those cars that cost 2x 3x more than the sonata didn’t have some of the features the sonata limited had.
The only area where I feel that Hyundai messed up on was in power. The fact that it’s a 2021 limited sedan, it’s lacking a lot in power. It should at least be 2.5L but I’m sure it would had probably cost much more. So I understand that they probably went with comfort and features over power. But I just think that the 1.6L is really low. Then I noticed that they released the N Line sonata which brought more power but it’s just way to stripped down and lacking of features. So I had to decided between comfort or power and of course I went with comfort.
Another thing that I found to be a little annoying and a simple fix for the car is the fact that it doesn’t offer wireless Apple car play, since the 2020 model came with wirecareplay, they should had added wireless car play to the 2020 model.
I also don’t like the piano plastic that the car has in the interior. The car has an amazing leather interior but the piano plastic used on the radio and gear shifter is really bad and very susceptible to scratches. I don’t know if the dealership sold me the car with a scratch or if I managed to scratch the gear shifter in one day it’s just really sucky material.
The same can be said about the plastic that covers the headlights, I really love the LED headlights but the plastic that protects them from the environment doesn’t seem that durable and is already looking bad.
Other than those complains the car is truly an amazing car and if these little minor issues weren’t there this car would be a perfect car. Providing all the features and comfort anyone could ever need, and the power backing it up.
