The most unreliable new vehicle I have owned. Things "glitch out" and hyundai won't stand behind their warranty. The dealer had my vehicle for 5 days, and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. They had no loaner cars, so I paid for a rental and they have yet to reimburse me for it, even though they said they would.

Looks nice, but many things going wrong already and I haven’t even had it for a year. Bad window road noise, driver seat issues, trunk issues, poor mpg (3-4 less than stated on every trip since day one).

I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to buy this car. I have had several issues with the car and have only had my repairs done at the dealership. No one could give me any answers and the issues are still present to this day. I never though I’d spend 45k on something and be this unhappy with it

Interior Leather Cracked within 3 days of owning the car, Dealerships Accuse us of cutting the seats ourselves
We have owned 3 Hyundai Sonatas over the last decade. Two of them were hybrids. Our last purchase arrived and we were super excited, however within 3 days we noticed what appeared to be a cut on the driver seat. We immediately inspected the rest of the car and this was the only issue. However within the next few days there were an additional two "cuts" in the leather. It turns out the leather was just splitting when someone would sit on the seats. We talked to multiple Hyundai dealerships, both accusing us of cutting the seats ourselves. We escalated to the Hyundai Corporate/Warranty group, sending pictures of the cracks - they also accused us of lying and cutting the seats ourselves. This experience has tainted our perspective of Hyundai and we are unlikely to purchase another Hyundai and would definitely not recommend them as a brand. As long time fans of their vehicles, this experience has greatly changed our perspective.

The dealership made alot of promises and sold me a car missing features that were stated were there they even hid the window sticker so I wouldn't see the lies never saw vehicle before purchasing was still on a truck was dissapointed and dealership did nothing to resolve issue other than take my money never do business with jenkins hyundai of ocala fl should not be allowed to sell cars

Sonata is too low to the ground and cheaply made. I traded it in quickly
The Towson Maryland dealership has poor customer service they blamed not issuing my $500 veterans refund on Hyundai. I produced proof my dd214. They refuse to respond even grinning after complaints. I plan on filing with the better business bureau because they ripped off a combat veteran and refuse to respond to honoring the discount. My wife and I traded in 2 Hyundai new purchase vehicles because we are UNHAPPY with the product and dealership. All your required questions are rediculous. You dont plan on changing anything!

Our brand new car broke down a month after we bought it
We had the car less than a month & it died on the freeway leaving my boyfriend stranded. The car was defective & the motor had to be rebuilt! Hyundai corp would not exchange it for a different car. The lemon law said it had to be in the shop more than 30 days & they had it back to us in just under 30 days so they would not have to give us our money back. They were evasive & refused to return my calls. When they did they were dismissive & rude. The dealership was as helpful as they could be but it was an issue with cooperate. These people do not care about their customers at all. They do not stand behind their product. They have terrible customer service.They sell you a defective product & then refuse to replace it. We shouldn't have to pay 30k for a brand new car when the motor had to be rebuilt within less than a moth of purchase.

Looks great but there are significant braking issues on both of my Hyundai’s. Service centers are overbooked and understaffed, takes hours to get a simple oil change. They try to charge you for items that should be covered under warranty.

Nice car, Terrible service
I've never left a 1 star review in my life, but this car and company and the dealership I purchased from have been a huge disappointment. Paint chips easily. Not good in snow or on slick roads. Broken windshield almost 2 years. Replacement was refused due to not "reporting in time". Yes- Hyundai markets on the strength of their warranty, but if you wait too long (3 weeks) to report a broken windshield they won't replace it. We purchased a new car in November 2 years ago, broke the windshield driving on the freeway and catching a rock in the windshield, and have been driving with a 3.5 foot wide crack across the window for almost 2 years. There are other issues like rattles and noises. So disappointed that I chose to purchase this vehicle over the Audi I was considering based on the strength of the Hyundai warranty. Huge mistake.

Not safe!
Driving on a major interstate and car broke down in left lane with no pre warning of any kind. Put itself in Park and engine light and oil light lit up. Just stopped working and pedal and wheel locked up. Could not engage ignition or any of the shifter buttons to move car off to shoulder. Car only has 22k miles on it.

Quality of seating is terrible. I’ve owned two Hyundais previously and this is the worst. The price has gone up, but quality has gone down. The size of the new Sonatas have gone down too. Small commuter cars with good gas mileage should have comfortable seating.

5123 miles and it's in shop
Limp engine relies on the turbo to much.
Engine make a lot of noise reflected to the interior
Haven't found the Gas milage they brag about.
Hyundai customer service really is the worst.
The car was taken to the closest dealership CURRY and because I didn't buy the car their they refused to except the car to repair it.
Terrible wind noise when driving more than 65mph, rattling sound from interior panels, rear interior plastic panels coming off, windshield molding (exterior) coming off; undercarriage guard came of while driving on highway. This is what you get in 1 month old 2022 Sonata Limited

Navigation Poorly Designed
The notification popped up that my engine will turn off in 30 minutes. Hyundai should not have any control of shutting my car down ever! I paid for the car in cash and I own it..why does Hyundai control my engine????? Also, I cannot disconnect by Bluetooth from car while in car...very inconvenient as I cannot access other apps.

Very disappointed with the Sonata
This is a low-power, poor-handling car which does not feel safe on the road at speeds over 60 mph, particularly when taking turns on the highway. The tires do not grip the road; it sometimes feels as if the car is hydroplaning across lanes. The suspension is tight and so the ride is not particularly comfortable. It's a lower priced,lower-power car than I've been used to, but I trusted the reviews and regret the purchase.
