Interior Leather Cracked within 3 days of owning the car, Dealerships Accuse us of cutting the seats ourselves
We have owned 3 Hyundai Sonatas over the last decade. Two of them were hybrids. Our last purchase arrived and we were super excited, however within 3 days we noticed what appeared to be a cut on the driver seat. We immediately inspected the rest of the car and this was the only issue. However within the next few days there were an additional two "cuts" in the leather. It turns out the leather was just splitting when someone would sit on the seats. We talked to multiple Hyundai dealerships, both accusing us of cutting the seats ourselves. We escalated to the Hyundai Corporate/Warranty group, sending pictures of the cracks - they also accused us of lying and cutting the seats ourselves. This experience has tainted our perspective of Hyundai and we are unlikely to purchase another Hyundai and would definitely not recommend them as a brand. As long time fans of their vehicles, this experience has greatly changed our perspective.
