New car breaks down barely over a month of purchase

Tried to accelerate, got to 33 mph, then wouldn't go any more; lots of smoke came out of exhaust; sputtering; smell of fuel, possible fuel leak; has been at dealers since 19 Nov & waiting on repair or replacement Happened once, seemed dangerous to continue to use, notified dealer 19 Nov 22 & its currently w/ dealer Not satisfied with this car; possible factory defective automobile; would like to get a replacement; preferably the loaner N-Line the dealer is letting me use in the meantime. When I tried to start the car to put in neutral for the tow operator, it sputtered and fuel smell emitted; possible fuel leak

Car broke down before 3,000 miles

I went on a road trip with the vehicle and on my way back I kept smelling oil and burning. I checked didn’t see anything. Then it started hesitating after going up hills it was pushing back. All the dealerships were closed so I was trying to get back home to NC from any before something crazy happened like getting stranded on the side of the road. Once I hit flat ground the issues stopped all of a sudden. I stopped to get gas and when I turned the car back on it started shaking aggressively and back firing. Wires were burning. Not what I’d expect from a brand new car. And the engine light of course popped up. Worst buying Experience ever.

The seats are terrible

The seats are terrible and Kia is a much better value. I should have bought a Sportage hybrid instead of the stupid sonata. It has some of the worst seats I've ever been in. The Baytown hyundai dealership in Texas is also a terrible dealership.

Wireless charger does not work

Wireless charger does not work. Over a month and nothing has been done. Case manager did absolutely nothing and never called me back as promised. Why am I paying my full lease amount when I did not get a new car in full working condition?

Car broke at 1500 miles

I bought the car brand new. In our first family road trip the engine stop working at 1500 miles. We had to leave the car at 170 miles from home and we currently have an open case with Hyundai Care. We really hope this ends well with a proper solution to this situation. This is unacceptable for an expensive brand new car.

2023 Sonata

3 weeks old and 1700 miles and car left me stranded with engine failure. Disappointed! Car went down to running on one cylinder and felt like it lost all compression at one point when trying to restart.

Poor Drive Quality

Probably the worst vehicle I’ve owned. It looks nice but god forbid you want to accelerate faster than a snail, it won’t budge and then the gear shifting is rough and loud. It’s a 2023 that drives like a 1999.

Engine broke down with in 4 weeks with the new car

I expected better quality since I changed from Toyota. Biggest mistake I did. Car broke down and dealership didn’t care. I have no car to use and will never buy or recommend Hyundai to anyone ever again

This is my second Hyundai vehicle with a major failure. I think you can do better. I have always recommended Hyundai to friends, families and customers of mine. I will wait to hear from the dealer on Monday. My sales rep. Scott has been very helpful.

Vehicle great. Hyundai awful

This corporation has no respect for loyalty. This was my 4th and last Hyundai. They left me stranded, having to pay $3K more to replace a vehicle that was 2 weeks old that died on a road trip. Hyundai corp did nothing to help me and blamed the dealer for my issues.

Features on the Car failed.

The entertainment system failed after less than a month, and dealer service is poor to repair and replace. A new car was purchased, and in less than a month there is an issue, and the service dept. cannot tell you what the problem is and a month later a new radio has not come in.

Don’t buy this car. Thieves will break in through the back window because it doesn’t set off the alarm, rip out your ignition switch to try to steal the vehicle, but the immobilized will stop them from taking it. So then, the vehicle will sit at the shop for God knows how long waiting on repairs while you’re driving a rental and spending money on your deductible.

I never thought I could hate a car. Coming from a Toyota Camry sport, this car is trash. More expensive payment, more expensive insurance, apparently better safety features but more claims against it for accidents… Low quality, the most annoying brake that you have to undo every time you change gears, always alerting me of danger for cars that aren’t near me, just overall the worst purchase I’ve ever made

Engine malfunction- Engine shutdown automatically

Engine shutdown automatically when I was at stop light and began to move. At parking lots, changed gear to 'P' and engine stalled for 5-20 seconds then shutdown automatically. Stopped at lights, Auto stop engine engaged but 10 seconds later, the auto stop engine dis-engaged automatically all times.

These cars are very cheaply built. I believe they skipped a lot of reliability for fancy features. I suggest going back and making changes so that these vehicles will last a lot longer never mind all the gadgets.

Had problems with new car 2 days after taking delivery. The manufacturer nor delear would do anything for me because they could not diagnose the problem. I got stuck with a lemon. Hyundai needs to fix all their problems before making new cars.

I bought a 2023 Hyndai Senota 3 months in it started shutting off while driving. I have tooken it to the shop over 6 times with vedios of what it dose and its still not enough for them to do anything about it. They first told me its not safe to drive but called me back. To tell me that they could not recreate issue and the car is safe to drive. they have just basicly have told me they canr help me anymore would not recomend

2023 sonata SE

My vehicle is very unreliable. There are TSBs out on the poor reliability of the fuel injectors. I have had two fail on the highway in unsafe conditions. Hyundai does not have a sufficient answer to make this vehicle for anyone moving forward

Great car, awful service

All of the Hyundai dealers have a 3-4 month backlog to get service and they do not offer any loaners so basically IF anything goes wrong you are stuck without a car (which happened to me). So as great as the car may be, and as good as the warranty is, all of that doesn't matter when something does go wrong.
