Great Car, Terrible Gas

I was in a total loss accident and looking for a new car. I was given a Hyundai Sonata as my rental car and I absolutely loved it.. I thought at the time, “I could see myself in this car, the only thing it was missing was a sunroof.” I previously had a Kia K5 and wanted another -unless I could find a car that made me turn my head. When at the Hyundai dealership, I expressed these wants and my sales woman recommended the Sonata N-Line, which is the car I currently own. It had every feature I wanted that the K5 had and I was excited to drive away in it. After owning the car for a week, the ONLY complaint I have until this day is that the gas on the N-Line is in no comparison to the K5 OR the regular Sonata. It drinks the gas at unprecedented rates and barely fills up to 380 miles most days, something I wish I would’ve known before purchasing -especially with the frequent traveling I do and the way gas prices are looking. My K5 filled to over 420 miles -sometimes 440 plus, so it took me a long ways. But besides the gas issue, the car reminds me of my K5 and is absolutely an eye catcher. I also wish the auto/eco mode at a red light was something I could turn off. It’s minor, but I don’t like it. I’d also extend the light bar in the car to the passenger side. It’s only of my favorite features of the car, so I’m wanting more!!

2nd Hyundai Experience

Right off the bat, the factory weights were wrong and off by about 2oz each wheel (All 4 wheels.) The transmission is jerky, especially of stops, or stoplights. It’s a stiff ride and the tires they use are mid range soft tires so you feel everything in the road on top of being 18” wheels. The size is nice, but truthfully the trunk is the same size as the Elantra so imo if you’re getting a car for trunk space just go wit the cheaper sedan.

Great! Except for the Gear Shifter

2026 Sonata N-Line is beautiful. It has a nice interior and good leg room. The extra precision of the auto drive is nice. Hyundai moved the gear shifter up by the window wipers. In fact, it looks an extra window wiper control and it is the worst feature of the new car. I wish they would have left it down on the console when you pushed a button to change gears. Now you twist and turn and neutral is not natural which becomes a problem for those of us that love to go to a drive through car wash.

Rattling sounds

Anytime I turn up the volume past 6, the doors rattle from little bass, as well as the creaking I hear whenever I go over slight bumps on the road

Nice, but

We love the look of this car, but noticed there are electrical glitches with the windows not working, and the touch screen for the ac and heat setting for the seats act up, and start selecting other features instead of what you selected. Left side door also rattles unless you put pressure on the the side handle. This fixes the issue temporarily, but will rattle again after a few minutes. Also, the seal on the back left door tends to come loose?! For a new car these issues should not be happening.

Meh

Car has 3k miles and not driving good anymore...bucks and chugs and jerks.....Has features that the driver can not turn off, suchnas that stupid coffee cup warning...I HATE IT! Its my Vehicle and if I want to turn that stupod coffee break message off I should ne able to but Hyundai made it so you can't.

I like my Sonata

When looking to buy another car that I can use to run around with good gas mileage I decided to test drive Honda accord, I did not like Toyota's dashboard, too basic so I did not bother. When I test drove the Hyundai Sonata, I fell in love with the technology and safety features and the slick nice interior long screen monitor with possibility of integration with your phone without a cord. This vehicle makes Honda and Toyota look like they are not innovating. I am sold on Hyundai and I like the comfort feel and shock absorber while driving. I highly recommend this car.
