Super reliable, super useful

Love my 2010 Subie Forester. It has 139,000 miles on it and amazingly I've never had to do anything to it other than the recommended service and replace consumable items. I ride it rough out in the desert, I've tested its max speed (110 with a slight downhill), I tow, I overload the tongue weight with my dirt bike on a hitch mount, I've filled it full of tools, paint, appliances, and lanscaping materials more times than I can count, it hauls paddleboards, I sleep in it instead of a tent.....this car just seems to do almost everything I need it to. Occasionally I think I need a truck but it's really only once or twice a year that I need something bigger than the Subie and on those occasions, Uhaul has me covered for a lot less money than another vehicle.

Sub par subaru

The amount of money spent to maintain the vehicle is out of the ordinary. Brakes are too delicate, the other parts do not appear to hold up well after 9 years. The seats are not very comfortable, interior seems to be cheaply made. It has been good in the snow.

Great car.

Great value and very reliable. I have had no trouble with it since I bought it in 2010. Handles very well and is very good in the snow ,It is fun to drive. I bought a 2017 Subaru Outback because of the result of the 2010. Now we are a Subaru family.

Don't fall for the hype

All of the commercials talk about Subaru reliability. This car has been one mechanical problem after another. I have done a lot of reading online and I have discovered that these major mechanical failures are fairly common in Subaru. 2 years ago I had to have leaky head gaskets replaced. This summer my transmission went out. Those were 2 very expensive repairs. My car has 160000 miles on it. I expect better and get it from my other car, a Toyota. 240,000 miles and no major mechanical issues. This is my 2nd and last Subaru. Do the research before buying.

Great car!

Never had the privilege to drive a Subaru. Cannot complain for the good and strong car we have. Drives great, strong motor and we feel safe. Great space for trunk storage and passengers seat comfortably.

Subaru has been a great, reliable vehicle.

We have driven our Subaru for nine years. It has always been economical, safe and reliable. If we have to replace it, we will probably buy another Subaru. I would only replace it for a smoother, quieter ride.

Subaru Forrester

This car was bought second hand from a lease owner with 30 thousand miles on it, and I do enjoy it's safety especially in inclement weather. Heavy rainstorms are no problem for this car. I feel very safe in the car.

I love my Subaru, will buy another once this one dies. It's a turbo so has great pick up, but don't like the fact it needs premium. Smooth ride. My husband will be purchasing a Subaru for his next car.

Best car I have ever had...

My 2010 Forester is reliable, solid, and still stylish. With 2 kids, 6 pets (3 large dogs), many kayaks on top, pulling a 4x4 trailer, snow, rain, floods, mountains-- this car has never let me down. It still runs like a top after almost 200,000 miles. We are a Subaru family and now have the Ascent as well.

2010 Forester

One of best automobiles I ever owned. If you keep maintenance up it won’t stop. Just flat out a good automobile. Is a little noisy but it is a sports utility vehicle. Use on long trips several times a month,just keeps going.

NOT REALLY TO MUCH TO SAY EXCEPT , BOTH SUBARU'S I HAVE OWNED HAVE NEVER LET ME DOWN , BUT AS ANYTHING THAT IS MECHANICAL , SOONER OR LATER THERE MAY BE PROBLEMS OF A SEVERE NATURE . IN MY CASE I HAVE YET TO HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH EITHER OF MY CARS . I ALSO BELIEVE IF ONE SERVICE'S THEIR SUBARU ON A REGULAR BASIS IT WILL LAST ALMOST FOREVER . NONE BETTER IN MY BOOK BOB D .

I'm in a cult and proud of it!

I've owned 5 Subarus and this is my first Forester. I absolutely love the vehicle! It gets great gas mileage, has plenty of room for hauling all sorts of things, and will go anywhere we decide to go! I took it on a trip to Colorado pulling a teardrop camper and I could hardly tell the camper was behind the car. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for an AWD SUV.

I have always enjoyed driving a subaru though this is my first forester. Great except for the lack power when trying to accelerate quickly. Don't know if it's the smaller engine or just mine because it's used

I bought this car in 2012 right after my 2003 Subaru Outback was totaled in an accident. Overall, the Forester is an exceptional car; easy to drive and easy to own. I wish it had more power especially climbing hills and entering freeways. Also, it should consume less gas, especially during freeway driving.

For a 4 cylinder, this car is beefy. Smooth ride, great visibility. Easy maintenance. I didn't have anything but a few oil changes done for the first 70k miles. The speakers could be better!

A great, sound and well designed and performing vehicle

Between my wife and I we have been driving Subaru Foresters for more than 25 years. My wife traded in her Mercedes for a Subaru and now will not drive or own anything else. We have over the years owned 5 Foresters and when my youngest daughter was in college we gave her one to use and with very little maintenance the car held up amazingly well for the almost 5 years she used it while in school. I have never had a Subaru let me down! No major failures of any system or equipment - I do the recommended maintenance and the cars last and last with very little investment in keeping it running in top condition.
