Not quite there yet I had to pay $1300 to get my windows and door locks working again and it would of been more withoiut my warranty . Bad wiring harnesses in 5 years is totally unacceptable this should of been taken care of for free by Hyundai

Good car overall loves the way it drives and handles and it looks and feel very expensive. The only draw back I had was the electrical problem with my windows , doors, parking sensors and automatic window sensor . I never had this type of stuff to go out on a car and never thought I would have to pay to get it fixed with less than 100000 Miles on my car and after owning it for less than 2 years . I think Hyundai should honor their original wArrenty even if you are not the first owner . Too much on a customer to pay when it’s something that should last for many years.

Poor paint

Everything with the Genesis is above expectations with the exception of the paint on plastic parts (bumpers, rocker panels etc.). The clear coat on the rear bumper and rocker panels has failed and has scaled off. The balance of the vehicle is fine. This is the first vehicle on which we have ever had this happen. Should not happen on a vehicle that is only Six years old.

Beware of electronics issues.

The car is excellent in everything you would be looking for in this type of car except it has multiple electrical issues that are difficult and expensive to get fixed. When we first got this car we loved it and in many ways it is the favorite car we have owned. However, due to multiple electrical issues that have been difficult to diagnose and very expensive to fix, we have lost all interest in ever owning another one.

Touchscreen

Hyundai Genesis 2012

The car is great however, on the passenger side dash it has cracked and that is not a good sign. It started cracking after I just finished paying my car off. This is concerning because the car dash should not crack that quickly. I have maintained my car and this is a problem.

2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0

I have owned my Genesis since purchased new in May, 2012. I have driven the car for just a little over 40,000 miles and, with the exception of extremely high oil consumption on the 5.0 V 8 engine, I am quite pleased with the Genesis. I had a few minor electronic problems which were fixed under warranty and the car has developed a slight drive train thump (which I attribute to tire/wheel balance issues). Otherwise I am quite happy with the handling, fuel economy, styling and performance. Once my oil consumption issue is resolved, I will be completely satisfied.

Genesis 5.0 R Spec

Car has plenty of power to get out of tight spots. Have had a number of mechanical issues during my ownership. In fact engine was replaced under warranty. Still has a persistent right pull in the alignment that dealer cannot correct. They said it’s within specs.

Exceeded my expectations

At first, I didn't want to get the vehicle but once I took it for a test drive, I felt in love with how soft and quiet it was. I also found out that the Genesis is compared to the BMW 335 and other vehicle makers but by buying this vehicle, not only was I able to save over $5,000 compared to a BMW but it performs and ride a lot better than other cars in the same category. Little maintenance and local Hyundai dealership takes care of me when I take it in for oil changes. Couldn't be any pleased!

2012 vs 2015 models

A salesman asked me what I didn't like about my 2012 Genesis while I was waiting for car in service dept. My two complaints were concerning stability of the suspension and a sporadic hesitation of the throttle. He gave me a rundown of the changes/improvements made in these areas. They recognized the input from genesis owners of the 2012/2013 models and redesigned both the suspension and throttle. He explained the improvements in great details. The 2015 model must be near perfect and I would buy one if I wasn't a retiree.

Very nice car. Love it on the highway.

Have been very pleased with this car. Has always gotten better gas mileage on the highway than information was advertised...consistently in the thirty-one MPH range. Not as good on ice and snow as I expected, and plan on an all-wheel drive next time. My wife is unhappy that the passenger seat has limited adjustment settings. Biggest complaint is the lighting for the driver information center. The color is blue. OK at night, but impossible for me to see in the bright day time, especially with sun glasses. It is one of the most dangerous driving situations I have been in when trying to read it. In order to read it, while driving I have to remove my glasses, lean to within about six inches of it and shield the bright light from it. Needless to say, a very undesirable situation, so much so that if this is not changed in the next model, it will be a "deal breaker".. Just plain and simple a significant safety problem.

LOVE THE CAR

This car is solid and fun to drive with lots of bells and whistles! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because my particular car has had a lot of recurring electrical problems; I,e., with the auto windows, the air conditioning the driver's seat memory, not working, being fixed, and then not working again. Other than that, great car!

2012 a Genesis sedan

Great car, has a few design issues: outside mirrors too fat, create blind spots; GPS not chosen by a car person; CD player should automatically STOP when phone Bluetooth in use; front right fender too low, almost all Genesis has curb scrapes on bottom; CD player should automatically go to next cd in order, instead of continuously replaying same cd, over and over and why do tail pipes continuously spew black soot on rear of car?

Has more technology features than I can learn and use in my lifetime. Discover new ones all the time. Great car. I bought it because I believe Hyundai is the NEW KID on the block. I bought the GENESIS because it was the FLAGSHIP model at the time. We have really enjoyed it. Problem free.

The front of the vehicle is too low for parking in front of any curve higher than 12 inches. The front will drag on trhe curve because is to low.

Coming from a Cadillac to the Genesis was a great investment. The inside is very spacious. The ride is not as smooth as a Cadillac but it is a comfortable ride. Good even for long distance traveling.

2012 Genesis 5.0. - 31K

I really like this car. I have owned an Elantra, Genesis Coupe, and now the sedan. The 5.0 has plenty of power, is quiet and a comfortable ride. My year has an older GPS system, so some of the features that are available today aren't available, but that's life. Stereo system sounds great, but is lacking in base. I have the Lexicon system, so I am unsure if I can add to the system. The only two things that I am not happy with are: The front suspension could be a little tighter when going around curves at speed. The R-spec may fix this, so I might upgrade if possible. The leather on the driver seat bottom is stretching out from normal use. Fortunately if it gets to bad, this is replaceable.
