A very good car

My Genesis has 40,000 miles on it. I am happy with its performance: good acceleration, very comfortable ride, excellent brake, decent AC . But it is not without weaknesses. At 20k the transmission failed and had to be replaced, under warranty, of course. The car had to be in the shop for a week while waiting for the approval of Hyundai and then for the new transmission to come. At 34k, the windshield wiper died during a ride in a heavy thunderstorm and scared the daylight out of me. The wiper motor had to be replaced later, also under warranty. At 38k the battery died and had to be replaced at my own expense. It is a little too early for this kind of trouble when the car is only 4 year old. I am sure I did not abuse the battery, like leaving the light or the radio on over night. I have owned two Lexuses, one was 11 year old when I totaled it, and have never had to take them to the dealership for anything more than a routine maintenance.If Hyundai wants to compete against Lexus in the luxury category, Hyundai has a long and steep hill to climb.

Hyundai almost got it right.

This has been a sweet car and has a great acceleration. The gripe is that - through a not great design - the car always pulls to the right, and cannot be aligned to offset this pull. i own a Lincoln MKS and have owned several other Lincolns and Cadillacs in the past. None of these cars ever had this type of pull. if it was not for this alignment problem, i would stack this car against any comers. With this flaw, it makes the car not nearly as fun to drive. i suppose if you are a race driver and are used to a pulling and super responsive Wheel it might be okay. I am almost 70 and like a responsive car, but also a very controlled car. This one does not have that control.

"Great car for less"

This car is top notch, however i still feel there are some things that could be better ..I think the car drives well. But needs to be a bit more sturdy when on the road, however I am no longer a Toyota gal :-) i look for mote growth from.Hyundai in the future

Overall the vehicle is great with a few exceptions

I do like the Genesis, but there is always hesitation / skipping while excelerating. the Transmission is the weak link. It does not shift into 1st or even 2nd when stopping and starting without being totally stopped for several seconds. I am sure it is to maximize fuel economy, but if you are making a U turn, you need to accelerate fairly quickly. With 333 HP, regardless, it will not get up and go and if you stomp on it, it roars into 1st and makes a crazy noise. This should not be. in the Lexus ES 350, this does not happen. The shifting is very much seamless. that is my number one complaint. Not having a memory drivers seat is also a complaint.

it has everything I wanted but it has inside noise The noise from outside is zero and I don't understand why there is a annoying inside hum like maybe tire noise.

I am very happy with the car I average 24.5 MPG overall and 31 on the highway. The only down point is the inside noise1001

The Hyundai Genesis

The screen for road maps and the phone has a decided glare limiting how one views the screen. The navigation tool was always clunky and problematic. The sensors in the gas tank are problematic. Otherwise this is a lovely car and a good value.

Great highway car...hugs the road...nice solid ride. Great looking car outside and inside. Loads of features. Seats are hard and if you don't have a riser for the passenger seat you ride quite low.

2012 Hyundai Gensis performance

This is my wife's car. It is usually driven locally for short distances. But we have taken extended road trips of about 5.000 miles as well. The car handles very well and we have confidence in the way in which it performs. However, we have been disappointed with the need to have control switches replaced .

Hundai 5.0

really great car. The V8 surprises embraces a lot of the black German cars, Quality and support are excellent. My only complaint is with the glass screen. It is poorly written and difficult to use. The phone misinterprets what I say, loses my phone book and only holds one phone book. The navigation is better done by my Google Maps on my phone. The viewing angle is such that the sun coming in the side or back windows makes the screen unreadable. My wife's Ford Escape doesn't have these problems

Above average

Before buying the Genesis, I was looking at BMW, Audi, and the Benz. I was more leaning towards the BMW 325/330 when during my research, came across the Hyundai Genesis. I heard of the Genesis Coupe but not a sedan. I loved the coupe, at least it's design but not the overly price tag. I looked and read reviews, photos, specifications, and safety rating. Reviews compared the Genesis to BMW 3 series and Benz CL class but at much cheaper price. Performance, handling, and comfort were better or the same as the others. Made my decision to test drive and bought soon after I test drive it. To this date, I haven't had any major issues with it. The maintenance is a lot cheaper compared to the others, GPM was average to above average (depending on how I drove), and having that 100K warranty is a piece of mind and an investment. The ride is very comfortable and the interior design of beige leather seats and glossy dash, makes my drive pleasant. Would recommend to anyone who wants a luxury car without the high price tag.

Touch Screen Problem

I love my 2012 Hyundai Genesis, but right now I'm experiencing a bad problem. The touch screen for radio, GPS and other functions suddenly quit work for no apparent reason. The dealer tried some resets to get it working. Still nothing. This car has less than 50,000 miles on it. It looks and drives like a brand new car, but I can't live with this problem. I listen to radio a lot and I need the touch screen. The biggest problem is I was quoted almost $9,000 in parts from Hyundai to get it fixed. If we can't get this worked out this car will lose a couple more stars in my review and this potential loyal owner will be looking for something new.
