Style and Performance Rolled Into One
Having owned Mercedes, BMWs, and Infinti's, I was actually at Hyundai buying my wife a Santa Fe Limited when she suggested that I drive the Genesis. Somewhat reluctantly, since I had just ordered a new Q sedan from Infiniti, I took a test drive with the Genesis 5.0. It performed and handled like any of the sedans costing $30k more and it had all the features and technology of Mercedes and BMW as well. Heads up display - check, large touch screen for GPS, phone, audio controls - check, 17 speaker sound system - check, lane departure warning - check, collision warning system - check, rear window screens / curtains - check, panoramic sunroof - check. Then you get to the unbelievabley smooth pick up of this 435 horsepower vehicle. You feel like you are driving a sports car. The paddle shifter are waiting for you to try them out. It's so smooth and quiet that you lose your sense of how fast you are going...until you see the speed limit and your actual speed in the heads up display. I did replace the Hyundai emblem on the back with a Genesis wing like the one on the hood. I get stopped all the time and asked what kind of a car am I driving. When I tell them, the #1 response is "You are kidding". Truely a great, sexy looking car and a great value that's hard to beat.
