Great for the suburban mom who needs to haul big or messy things

I have had my Santa Cruz for two years now. I live in a semi rural area and have historically had pickup trucks as my daily driver. The vehicle I traded for my SC was an SUV and I was on the hunt for a truck because putting straw bales in the back of an SUV is no fun to clean. Or needing to haul big plants around town is hard with a roof in the way. My husband wanted to look at these. I initially was unsure about the spaceship look it had- however. The comfort and better fuel mileage and that turbo charger really won me over. So I went home in a 2024 Night Edition. And I love it still two years later. I will say the back seats are a bit small compared to a pickup or suv. However my kids currently aren’t bothered by the leg room. I’m short and have ridden in the back comfortably for a couple of hours. Taller individuals may not like the lack of leg room in the back. For me and my family however it’s a non issue.

Great Little Truck

I enjoy my Santa Cruz, it is fun and comfortable to drive and I appreciate the availability of the truck bed. I have actually hauled things in the truck bed, the tie down points make it easy to secure loads and I appreciate the bed cover. Engine does sound noisy at vehicle start but once it is running there are no issues.

Great little Truck

Very well built, fit and finish flawless. Good steady ride, either around town or on the Interstate. Reasonable performance from the inline 4 cylinder, 8 speed automatic performs well with the engine. Smooth flawless shifts. Relatively comfortable interior, Loaded with all kinds of “electronic goodies”!

suv pickup

Transmission need more gears. Going 75 mph requires 3500 rpm, should only be 1800 to 2000rpm. Engine will be worn out before 100,000 miles.

Comfortable ride. Bed could be a little bigger. Comfortable seating. Engine without turbo is very under powered. If doing it again, I would get the turbo. Nice paint, too much plastic trim.

I Like my Santa Cruz

Overall, I like my Santa Cruz. Once Car activated Limp Mode, which is one reason for four stars. Hyundai service couldn't find any reason why that happened but there must be a reason. Also, when I purchased the car, I received Bluelink subscription and it supposed to have digital key option, at least this option was in the description. Unfortunately, according to Hyundai my Sata Cruz does not offer digital key for Santa Cruz anymore.

Great small trick

I love my Santa Cruz! In the 20 months since purchased it has taken me from GA to CA twice and from GA to NE twice plus every else I needed to go with all the comfort I could want in a vehicle.

Unexpected satisfaction

Overall am happy with my Santa Cruz. Much different than the 6cyl GM trucks I am use too. Took ma a bit to get use to it. The only negatives, where the touch screen buttons are for the AC is too easy to accidently touch when grabbing for something in the cubby. Im consistently accidently skimming the buttons and either changing the speed, temp on or off...etc. 2nd..tends to be a bit of jerking..when shifting speeds...not a real smooth transitions, would be nice if the back seat would fold down and the wall between cab and bed could fold inward providing more length for bed. Other than that.. the gas mileage is great..the options are good, and so far no issues.

Love the Truck, hate the DCT Transmission

The Truck is great! But, at 18,000 miles I got the dreaded P1C2D03 trouble code, signifying that the problem with the Dual-Clutch Transmission, which hit 2022 models hard, is still out there. Hyundai replaced my transmission under warranty. I hope this second one lasts...
