Rotten!! It was a lemon!!

The number of recalls and calling corporate and not hearing back.. sent every record of service to corporate and never hearing a thing!! The last I was told I needed a whole new navigation system it would cost a mere $4500!! I can count on one hand the amount of times I used it! It has had some error message on the screen for atleast four years!!0

Hyundai Sold Me A Lemon

I bought my car new off the showroom floor June 7, 2010 and I have had nothing but issues since. I loved the look of the car, the way she drives and handles the road, I loved the interior and the fact that it came with nav and xm radio...but the issue that I had after that and the problems with this car, were just too much. Honestly, I should've traded the car in after they gave me a new transmission, but I didn't and that is my fault. As much as I love the look of this car, I doubt if I will buy another one. Additionally, I want to give them a one on Build Quality, Performance, and Likelihood of Recommending to others and they will not allow me to remain at 1, so that is why they have a 2.

2011 Hyundai - Blown - Seized Engine - Yes, it Seized Due to poor manufacturing by Hyundai at Factory -part of nationwide recall-500,000 engines affected - Three Years of Cars!.

Yes, Hyundai replaced the seized engine but I had to buy a new fuel pump from Hyundai ($846.00) the serpentine belt and hoses were also replaced by me at a cost of approximately $300 for the hoses and belt. Good sense dictated the belt and all hoses be changed out at this time of the engine change. Until the engine seized there was no problem with the fuel pump. The car ran fine. Hyundai made me buy the new fuel pump. They claimed they were "not responsible" because the vehicle had "high mileage". However, the fuel pump just coincidentally failed at the same time the engine seized ! The labor for hoses, fuel pump and belt was provided free by Hyundai as part of the change out of the engine. All of these items should have properly been included by Hyundai (and paid for by Hyundai with no cost to me) as part of the engine change out after the engine seized. I was not provided a replacement vehicle while my Sonata was out of service for the engine replacement. The engine seizing was part of the nationwide recall program that affects Sonata model years 2011 - 2013. Poor manufacturing at the factory by Hyundai was the problem. Check out the internet stories on it. Very ugly stuff. I probably would not buy another Hyundai product or speak favorably about the product. I bought this vehicle new in Sept 2010 and it has been meticulously maintained at either the dealer where I purchased it or at my local independent repair shop by a very experienced, certified technician.I have been the only driver of this vehicle. What next is going to fail? How will I be treated NEXT time?

Engine failed and then caught on fire destroying entire vehicle

I brought in my 2011 Sonata because the engine was stalling. I was charged for the diagnostic service and then told that they could not find a problem and recommended that I have the fuel lines cleaned which I paid for. Exactly one week after I picked up my vehicle the engine shut off while I was driving on the highway and within about 60-90 seconds the entire car was engulfed in flames and is completely destroyed.

2011 Hyundai - Disgraceful! A piece of junk.

If I would have known, I would NOT have purchased this vehicle. No faith left in the Hyundai Brand! You need more than a stylish car body to retain customer loyalty. Take responsibility for what you manufacture so unsuspecting customers are not purchasing a shell of a car!

Hyundai sonata junk

Numerous recalls, problems costing thousands..do not buy one! Car is very lightly built w/weak suspension and engine with shavings in it. Poor parts and rude service people. Dealers will not stand by the car, they just want to sell you another one!

Horrible

Will never again go to this particular location. I originally came in for a recalled engine to be replaced and ended up having the car towed back twice. The second first time around I was talked into buying a 135$ battery and was assured that was the issue of the car not starting. Got all the way home and the car would not start again. Just horrible. I could not get anyone to talk to me about what I needed to do only the operator Whitney. I had the car towed back to Hyundai on my own hands and then was contacted the next day saying it was the starter. Which by the way was replaced before the engine went out. Just horrible experience overall. Hyundai contacted my warranty company to see if they can cover the starter but no they wanted it towed back to Midas who originally replaced the starter not even a month ago. Thank s for having me waste 135$ on a new battery that was not needed. I will never come to this location again!!

Piece of turd

I have a 2011 Sonata Limited and it has just been recall after recall with this vehicle. I am constantly receiving notifications about recalls on my car, and I always have those sounds that the dealer can't quite replicate and therefore can't help. (I HATE the brakes). The quality of the plastic on the middle console scratches easily, some of the lettering has rubbed off, the steering wheel panels have already been replaced because they flaked, and the brakes always make the worst sound after it's been sitting. (I HATE the brakes). Overall, this car has gotten me around, and it has nice features, but I wish I didn't feel like it was just going to break down on me some day.

Stay away from the 2011 Sonata

Loved the car at first but this model is inherently flawed. Lost count on the number of recalls I have had it in for, now a new engine. Covered under the warranty but a 2011 should not have to have a new engine. What next??

I've have nothing but issues with this car. 2011 and only 66000 miles. I've had 6 recalls, a new battery and a new starter. Other issues as well. I'd never buy another one and I would never recommend this car to anyone else

Horrible

Very bad car since day one. Many recalls, falling apart. Overall just a very bad buy. Engine replaced, and many other parts. Now i understand why it has a good warranty but it ends to soon for all the problems the car has.

Mass produced vehicle, rushed, basic, too many recalls, uncomfortable and low front passenger seat. Engine Problems, Steering Problems, Interior Accessories Problems, Lights Problems -- lights have to be replaced often, AC / Heater Problems, the car doesn't seem to do all that well on fuel. Reliable car after after recalls

Dashboard

As I stated below I am very disappointed in the quality of the materials used in the dashboard of this vehicle. To have a dashboard get destroyed throgh no fault of my own is very disheartening since we have sevral Hyundai's in our family.

Car review

The service at Palatine Hyundai has been wonderful. I however would never get another Hyundai again. The short amount of time I have had my car, it has been recalled more times than I care to mention. In the first year I had the car I had to return to the dealer for a broken radio, ceiling light, back done stuck closed. So no I would never buy another one again.

piece of crap

This is ridiculous. Yet another recall. Would like to shove this car up your . My first new car ever and I get a piece of crap. Think you need to do recall on electrical. Headlights flash on and off when you use turn signal horn don't work. Cruise control don't work. You should be ashamed to put out a vehicle that is a piece of crap. I tell everyone not to buy your cars. Hopefully they will listen and not have to put up with the shit I have for the past few years. My boyfriend is disabled and we need this vehicle to keep going for us. I also take 2 of my neighbors to their drs appointments.

Won’t own a Hyundai again...

After owning only Honda’s for most of my life, I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata used. After a broken ignition, electrical problems, a faulty muffler and continuous recalls that need to be fixed, I am sure to never make this mistake again. Both my car and the service I have received at two separate Hyundai dealerships has been far from ideal. Back to Honda’s for me...

The worse car i ever had

Really expensive to buy parts if not cover undr warranty. Dont do it!! You will endup with a HOTpotato on your hands and no direccion to take unless u have thousands of dollars to throw away on this pieces of crap. Cheap pos.

THIS CAR SHOULD BE REPLACED ..OVER 13 RECALLS..THINGS BREAKJNG ALL THE TIME. THIS CAR IS AN ABSOLUTE LEMON. TIRED OF PUTTING MONEY INTO THIS CAR. Hybrid system

Hybrid system has done nothing but give me problems and now I'm just feed up whit it cause I can't get a straight answer from anyone of the problem so I'm just going to buy a new car that's not hybrid since the problem starting one thing was fixed and all the dealer which said it was fixed and when I called all I got is just keep driving it till the computer recognizes the new part and now after 1 year complaining to the dealer I'm still being to the same thing so I'm done
