Too many recalls

Too many recalls and I feel at this point I should be given a new car with all the constant recalls each year. There was an engine, seat belt, and war bag recall and his can you trust a vehicle that has all these recalls to be a reliable vehicle with a family.

Problems

My car really should have been a “lemon” under the law. I love my car for comfort, size, looks and such, however my radio never worked and Hyundai replaced it a few times with no good result. The third time they replaced it the said they “gifted” me the radio because it was no longer under warranty. Hyundai corporate wouldn’t do anything to help me with this problem. My radio never got fixed! I came out of work one day to find transmission fluid flooding out of my car. The service center charged me for the repairs even though I was under warranty. It took months for corporate to finally give me m6 payment back. I have had 10 or more cars in my life and this car spent more time in the shop (times two) than all my other cars totaled. I like the cars but Hyundai didn’t back me up or help me out. without a fight. Don’t think I will ever buy Hyundai again.

Hyundai still making vehicles as a cheap throw away brand just like they were in the 80's.

Nice up to date the technology but the build quality is still bad. I had a Toyota Camry same 2011 year as the Sonata but just the sound of closing the doors tells the cheap quality of Hyundai. Hyundai isn't a long term brand.

First Make - Not Worth The Headache

I have owned this vehicle for over a year now and have spent about 9k in repairs. I have replaced the Transmission, Engine, and now the Radiator Shutter Flap Assembly. I would only recommend this car if you are only going to drive it for about 80k miles. I started having big issues around 107k miles and the story continues. I would consider this vehicle as a money pit.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrids are Lemons

there is ALWAYS something wrong with my vehicle. My car is classified as a “Lemon.” DO NOT purchase a 2011 Sonata Hybrid. You will sink so much money into it. Last year, I spent over 8k in repairs. From Dec-April of this year, another 1.7k in repairs! This car gets so many recalls and there was a previous lawsuit. My car is only worth up to 1k to trade or sell. It is an extreme waste.

Issues

You might have many electronic issues with the backup camera. Your speakers will sound horrible in comparison to other Brands of vehicles. If you find a car with extra low miles and an older car like a 2011. The reason might be that the previous owner had a lot of issues!

Sonata 2.0T Review

Love the body style. Interior quality is average at best. Turbocharger provides ample power for passing and a little fun. Unfortunately the turbo is prone to wastegate issues.

Not my favorite....

Car has big-time blind spots on each side of front window. Seat belts are not user friendly and hate sitting in a deep hole in passenger seat (has no device to raise or lower). Otherwise vehicle is okay. Great turbo. Wouldn't purchase again.

Decent Car

For the price the Sonata is a good car but I feel there could be some improvements made in its quality. In the five years I've had the car the gear box has gotten locked up, a coupling in the steering column has needed to be replaced, and small items in the interior have proven to not hold up very well over time.

Nice family vehicle

This vehicle runs great and is spacious. The only issue is that the 2011 models have had allot of recalls and electric problems. I think a newer model would be okay though.

Recalls and cheap parts

There have been numerous recalls which are inconvenient as you have to take time out of life to have the repairs done and front wheel well liners need to be replaced and push my bumber cover out from the side of the vehicle and I've read this is a common problem. I think that should be recalled too.

The sonata, is a fun car to drive. It has good handling ability. The car is good on gas too. Nice looking also. Hyundai's sonata's have to many safety recalls.

Good car with quality issues

I really loved this car except when i had to be taking it so ofter to the dealer to correct defects. From driving column, airbag, steering wheel buttons (twice), window switches, door handles, rear lights sockets melted constantly having to replace lights, dome light switch and a few more I don't remember and all before I even pay it and not counting the cost of my time to take it.

Sonata Limited

Recalls are troublesome - seems to speak to the quality of parts chosen in manufacturing the car. Would like to see all planned recalls at once so one trip could get them done. Also need better evaluation from Sonata on severity of the recall. Recalls seem to be pushed out based on cost to HMUSA.

Wobble/vibration

I am nonplussed so far with the ownership of my Sonata with a low mileage scenario being my personal ownership situation. Does Hyundai have anything with a smoothly satisfying road feel to help me get over my quest for satisfaction? Even another manufacturer's model...with low miles of course...An interminable bug is bumping that wheel mounted emergency service button and there have been interior hardware issues also.
