Best Car EVER!!!!!

Ive owned my 2011 for 5 years now and all Ive ever done to it is oil changes! I havent even had to do the brakes! My brother has one as well and loves his also! He recommened it. I will get another one. Its nice to have a car that you can trust.

Bad

This car has been nothing but recalls and problems. From electrical to seats not working back windows don’t work interior lights don’t work. My engine seized and now my radio doesn’t work and Hyundai refuses to fix it

Hybrid system

Hybrid system has done nothing but give me problems and now I'm just feed up whit it cause I can't get a straight answer from anyone of the problem so I'm just going to buy a new car that's not hybrid since the problem starting one thing was fixed and all the dealer which said it was fixed and when I called all I got is just keep driving it till the computer recognizes the new part and now after 1 year complaining to the dealer I'm still being to the same thing so I'm done

One of the best values on the road

2011 Sonata has been a great car to drive. I routinely get 35 mpg on the highway. Outstanding range on the road. Smooth, powerful, and a nice overall ride. It's a great value for what you get. Only minor beef is that the GLS doesn't have driving lights or a backup camera. The stock headlights are too weak. Otherwise, awesome car!

No complaints, but have reservations....

Recent Sonatas have a better review than the year of my Sonata, 2011. I have checked different reviews & 2011 is the WORST year for that vehicle!!!! Luckily, I have had minimal issues with mine ! And Taylor takes care of what they need to. As least so far !!

recalls

Too many recalls, including an engine recall! It left me stranded the first year I had it when the starter went. Had to replace both axles which are known to go on them. The latest air bag recall is going on now and after 3 appointments, it's still not fixed.

Gas mileage not as advertised, averaged 26 in the city and 32 on the road too many recalls for the same problem brakes were problems, suspension was horrible, has to replace suspension components a few times

Very Pleased Sonata Owner @ 90,000 miles and growing

As we approach 90,000 miles on our Sonata, we continue to be extremely pleased. I'm amazed at how well engineered almost every aspect of the Sonata design - everything seems to be just where one would expect it to be. Not only design still pleasing to the eye, but coupled with outstanding performance and outstanding dealer service. Most recently, in response to a recall notice coupled with awkward front-end vibration and noise - the dealer made major warranty covered replacements of front axle and steering at no cost. Resulting in a smooth running vehicle - talk about a breathe of fresh air.

good car, reliable to over 230,000 miles

I like that my car is paid for and that it still runs. I would like to see more manual transmission options. I drive stick. Until there are some more manual transmission options it looks like I'll be driving this car for a lifetime

Only car I'll Drive

This is my 3rd consecutive Hyundai. When the time comes for another car, it will be Hyundai. The only thing I will change is to buy an all wheel drive. I recently moved to an area with lots of steep hills. Winter time driving, especially during a storm, requires an all wheel drive vehicle. Why mess with success!

Love the Sonata Hybrid. Good on gas and just right size for me being a woman. Just not enough trunk space. My husband loves to drive it even if he does not admit to it. I traded in my Honda for Hybrid

Hybrid drivers

I Drive a 2011 Hybrid Sonata and enjoy my car, I didn't purchase the the top of the line but that's my mistake that will never happen again. I drove a Big vehicle for a living so I can appreciate relaxing quietly in my own vehicle instead of listening to my engine roaring down the road.

my sonatas

I had always owned US vehicles until my 2011 Sonata. NOW I own 2 SONATAS. (2011 & 2018.) I gave the 2011 to my wife and she really loves it. Importantly; the car is 8 years old and I can't find a spec of rust anywhere nor have I had any major problems.

Headache

My 2002 Sonata was a gem. So, I purchased my 2011 believing it would be great experience, NOT! The engine died after they tested it six months prior, stating it was good. I've had to replace at least (3) sets of headlights when my husband's 2006 Avalon has yet to need a headlight replacement. There has been at least (5) recalls for various reasons and a host either nuisance issues. There will not be a new Hyundai in my future.

Great car

I'm a big guy and find the car very roomy and comfortable. The car handles very well, gets great mileage at the same time. I'm very surprised and satisfied with the car. I feel very confident when my 16 year old daughter driving it that she's safe.

Hyundai Sonata

My husband made me trade in my Suburban in 2011 with some resistance on my part. Did not want a smaller vehicle. Took a bit of getting used to but I LOVE my Sonata! Wonderful car for long distance trips(got 39 mpg on one!). Has been super dependable and still no creaks or noises 7years later. Have developed a leak someone but I guess that’s expected, otherwise couldn’t be happier. Next car will definitely be a Sonata

Not built for comfort

You cannot adjust the passenger seat to raise up! It feels like you are sitting on the floor!! There are many blind spots when trying to switch lanes! Plastic inside to adjust Windows Etc fall off very easily and are very expensive to replace!! There have been many recalls it seems like at least two a year!

Stylish reliability

After eight-plus years of owning my 2011 Sonata, I have considered trading it in, solely based on my preference for an all-wheel drive vehicle. I live in the northeast and now have two grandchildren I drive from place to place along with my wife, and I want the added safety against challenging road (snow, ice) conditions. My daughter tells me "Dad, no one drives a sedan anymore; everyone has an SUV". Well , I', not "everyone" and, even after having logged over 123k miles, I exit this vehicle, walk a bit, turn around to look, and say "What a car!". I'm a baby boomer from the "Doo wop" fifties, and have truly come to appreciate the progression of style over the decades; the Sonata exemplifies style in more ways than I appreciate. Unfortunately, it is not available in all-wheel drive.
