Sporty yet Practical
I bought my Sonata Turbo new while pregnant with my first child. I needed a sedan to replace my coupe, as there was no way I'd be taking a car seat in and out of a two door. I, however, wasn't willing to sacrifice performance and sportiness for size. This car has been a perfect marriage of the two. There's ample horsepower and performance has always been snappy, while still offering a quality ride. There's plenty of head and legroom, not to mention trunk space, but I still don't feel like I'm tooling around in a 'mom car'. It's been very reliable with regular maintenance (highly recommend letting the turbo spool down each time it's started), except for some issues with rodents being able to get in the fresh air intake and take up shop under the hood. :( I've been able to prevent that by always pressing the recirculate button now each time the car is parked. I've owned the car for five years now and have not had any major mechanical issues. I also test drove Kias when I was looking to buy, and the interior styling and handling just wasn't a match for the Hyundai. I've been very happy with my purchase. City gas mileage could be improved a bit, but I like my horsepower, so I won't complain :)
