Not so happy with 2012 turbo

I reviewed Hyundai and others before purchase. Hyundai had good reviews. However, my 2012 has had problems and recalls that I'm not happy about and the air conditioner does not get cold like other cars. I have better luck with older used cars that I have had then with a brand new Hyundai. most likely will not purchase another Hyundai. Though I do like the turbo option and the look of the car.

2012 Sonata

2012 Sonata 2.0 turbo is not an exceptional vehicle. The infotainment system is problematic. Acceleration is mediocre for a 275 HP car - It must always gear down to accelerate.

LIGHTS

Its annoying when you have to continue to get new brake, head, back and signal lights every month. Even getting them from the dealer they still blow out. Lights are not cheap

Love/Hate relationship

I love my car. Spacious, comfortably, runs so quiet, great gas mileage. It even looks great! However, it seems to have some underlying mechanical issue that is difficult to pinpoint and thus tricky to resolve. A click/clunk that I am determined to persistently address with service!

its alright

honestly i don't think i would buy another hyundai again there been more issues with this car than my pontiac g6 i had. i like the features in the car but seems to cost more to maintain for some reason

Good mileage

Gives good mileage. Some small thing breaks every few months. Cheap craftsmanship, then again it's a budget car. Lots of gadgets. Blue link system is great and reasonable priced. This good be a good first car

Just a car

The Sonata is just a basic cheap throw away car.. the 2.0T version can be fun to drive but the interior was made as cheap as possible and the car creaks all of the time.. I will not buy another Hyundai again..

Happy but disappointed..

I love driving this car, getting in and out is not easy. This car is so low to the ground that we drug the front bumper assembly while entering a drive way. The last thing that has disappointed me was the lack of a spare tire, jack and wrench. Mileage has been good. 75,000 miles no problems.

2012 Hyundai Sonata hybrid

Good car. Only complaint after 30,000 miles is the steering at highway speeds. Needs constant correction which makes driving tiring. Great in town car however.

MPG disapointment

For a hybrid the in town mileage is only about 22 MPG. I got the best mileage ever 42MPG going trough the mountains in West Virginia which I thought was bizarre. As soon at the temperature drops in the fall my fuel mileage drops from the mid 30s to the mid 20s.

2012 HYUNDAI SONATA .. NOT VERY COMFORTABLE, NOISY

I bought my car by myself in 2012. I had researched cars for a year and decided on the Kia Optima but when I went to the dealership they were very pushy and rude so I left and went to Hyundai. I was attracted to the 10yr, 100,000 mi warranty. I searched for a car that had the convenience package. White wasn't the color I would have chosen but I needed a new car. I didn't have anyone with me when I bought it. Every single person who rides in my car complains that the passenger seat is too low. My friend and my kids can't see over the dash. My husband says it makes him car sick. I didn't know that when I bought it. The driver seat adjusts up and down and has a lumbar setting. The driver seat is hard to get out of and my back was killing me after a couple of months. I had to get a memory foam pillow for my back. After driving a van for years I was not used to a car that is so low to the ground. It only took me a month to scrape the car parking next to a curb and I can't tell you how many times I've missed curbs because I can't see. I am constantly getting stuck on the parking lot blocks. I will never buy a white car again. The interior is beige cloth.. with 4 kids the upholstery was trashed within a year. Not easy to clean either. I've had a few repairs under warranty and was happy that I bought the extended warranty offered by the dealership. It worked out this time. I do like the shiftronic mode. The throttle rattles a bit on hills but I drive with the Eco on most of the time. The car gets good mileage. The cabin is pretty noisy when the music isn't on. I'll be handing this down to my 17 yr old soon so I think it's reliable and safe.

Pre-Owned Car

Didn't realize this year and model had so many recalls and still dealing with replacing rotors and brakes with a year from purchase. Gas mileage is good. Style is a sporty look which I like.
