Great but little bad things

Steering wheel peeling Broken seat belt button I really don’t expect any problems In less than 6 years And less than 35000 miles I keep cars usually 7-8 years with NO problems other than regular maintenance. So far Hyundai isn’t making the grade

Is it worth the price?

I had this car for more than five years, it is a stylish and comfy car i would say. However, is it worth your money over millege and reliability? On my experienced driving 21 miles on freeway would not compensate what I paid for, why? First, the car was just service for transmission, hybrid pump, and battery, not even 90k the car broke down that bad. Second, the car went to service not more than 6 months ago due to engine leak. And 3rd, I drove other hybrid, conventinal car, and desseled powered car and I would say about power this one is less; mpg? this one less, and comfy they are about the same. So I dont know if hyundai would post this but I doubt it but if it does well it's on you now if you would still take one. I paid the price of Mercedez for this hybrid fyi, top of the line limited edition and for me it's not worth it.

I have been happy with my Sonata for the most part.

I have been happy with my Sonata for the most part; however, I have had some issues that should not have occurred. The main one has been the battery. I have had to replace it several times because it has not held a charge. The man who "jumped" my car about 2 years ago told me that he has seen this many times in the Hyundai cars. I have also had to replace a few parts that I feel should have lasted longer, as they did in previous cars. On the positive side, I have a turbo engine, and it's great! In addition, the driver's seat is very comfortable.

I have 2012 T Sonata, I have say it is a ok car but it is not Toyota or Mazda or even Honda. I think this car has a lot to improve on , it may ver well has since 2012. Good thing powertrain has warranty up to 100K, otherwise I would have had many issue & alot of expense since there was a recall and I got a new engine around 60K. Prior to engine fix I complained about engine performance up to 10 time before they took a serious look at my car's engine as they kept telling we can not duplicate the issues you are claiming. Overall it is a ok car but probably up to 3 years. Again they may have improved since 2012.

Electrical Problems

A very comfortable car would definitely buy a new one! To my proplema and that I have some electrical problems that make me worried! My turbo also sometimes does not work! Indoor space and comfort are the highest points!

Great dependable car

I purchased my Hyundai in November and was super excited. The car runs great. My only complaint is the the clear top coat paint is peeling all over the car. I keep my car clean and only had the car since November and the dealer was like it's not their problem. It's a shame I have years to pay for a car and no one is willing to fix the peeling paint! I wonder if this is Hyundai problem. Being that I owned the car for 3 months, no matter the mileage it had when I bought it. It should be taken care of. I dorn park under trees and again my car is clean. It's a manufacture issue not an owner issue.

2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T

My 1st new car was the '04 Santa Fe. I LOVED IT. When I had to replace it, I fell in luv with the Sonata on sight, but due to the many recalls, I'm on the fence about buying another Hyundai. Undecided.

Stylish vehicle but should have bought gas model

My car is so stylish but I have had numerous problems with "Hybrid Safety Warning, Do Not Drive". The troubleshooting was endless. And when the five year warranty went out, I had to pay $900 for an air damn part of the hybrid system. 7 years in and the gas motor part of the hybrid went out. I wish I had just gotten the same car as gas engine.they have great reviews and great resale value compared to my model

My Hyundai

The best vehicle I've ever owned. The paint chipping/cracking and not being honored is a disgrace. I love this vehicle but drive in shame due to appearance. Hyundai should be ashamed. No referrals here.

Great car to commute in and a night out with friends. I love the color and nice ride to drive. Really reliable car to have and adorable on gas. Comfortable to drive and good in certain weather conditions.

Great value and very reliable

Great value. Stylish inside and out. Very reliable. Fold down rear seats expand trunk capacity. Repair costs seem to be reasonable. Easy to drive on the freeway and off. Exterior finish is holding up well.

Great car, bad gas mileage

I pretty much love everything about the car except for the gas mileage especially in the summertime when the AC is running nonstop I get anywhere from 20 to 25 miles per gallon...need vehicle updates that should have been covered by hyundai but I was made to pay for them

2012 hyundai sonata

I would not recommend the 2012 sonata. I bought it new and it has had too many recalls on this model year. I also have a 2002 sonata, which still runs better than the 2012 model. Thus if anybody is looking for the used car, don't buy the 2012 sonata. Hopefully the later years have corrected the problems.

This 2012, and 2011 have a terrible history. Do your home work before you buy used.

Official recalls have been issued for the 2012 Hyundai Sonata by the NHTSA. There are 8, and the Engine is a major one which Hyundai fought them on. A midsize sedan that looks like a high-end luxury car, has a 10-year/100,000-mile power-train warranty Do your homework, or else.

Hybrid battery is very concerning.

It took awhile for the technicians at a Hyundai dealership to figure out that my car needed a new hybrid battery replacement. It's very concerning because my car shut off on it's own various times in the middle of busy highways. It could've turned into a big liability issue if any of my loved ones would've gotten hurt because of this issue. Hyundai needs to train their technicians better for quicker diagnostics on hybrid cars. Don't want anybody out there going through the same stress I did because of the hybrid battery.

This 2012 Sonata is a great summer car but worthless in snow and ice of winter this is the first car I have bough without 4 wheel or all wheel drive will not buy another but would buy a Hyundai product with all wheel drive

Recalls

To many recalls, To many times in for service. Last time in for service had driver side seat belt that would not latch. I felt it was a safety issue that Hyundai should be responsible for. It was not covered by my extended warranty. I had no choice but to pay up.

Decent Vehicle, However . . .

Decent vehicle, however Hyundai national is the pits. Hard to find information from national. Utube has better information. National web site is terrible. Keeps reminding you of recalls and maintenance that have already been performed. Lousy navigation system. Sunroof may spontaneously explode (mine did)!
