2012 Sonata

Dick Smith has done a great job. I have had the car 7 years. To date I have had a total of 9 recalls. Not to mention the hoods supports just went bad. The dealership wanted $103.00 for each support plus labor.

87000, 2012 AND WARRANTY DOESN'T COVERED

Because im not the first owner i have to pay over $ 6000 to fix this car , and after they charge me for diagnostic the service department doesn't give me a complete description of the problem i have when i driving the car shows a problem with the hybrid system, and they said is the transmission issues. With crazy price to fixed

Terrible quality. Constant recalls.

Hyundai should be ashamed of this piece of junk wearing it's badge. Constant recalls..... Many for serious safety issues. Stranded my wife twice. Electrical system is terrible.... I've replaced every bulb multiple times. Ride is terrible.... Chews through tires like nothing I've ever seen. Save your money and buy something else. I see first hand why they're priced do cheaply. Hyundai should do the right thing and buy back every one of these horrible cars.

Don't buy

Do not buy. It will give you problems with the electrical computer of the car. Look up the problem on YouTube. Seems to happen to all of them! I took my car to dealership and they could not find the problem.

Car is Unreliable

This car is poorly engineered. It cost me several $$$$ to try to maintain this vehicle as I wanted to drive it a long time. Hyundai tried to learn how to engineer a hybrid. and that cost me $$$ I paid for Hyundai to learn. I will never buy a Hyundai hybrid again and likely never buy a Hyundai again.

2012 Sonata Hyundai

This is the biggest lemon of a car probably ever manufactured.....there have been recalls; the engine, the steering column, the seat belt mechanism (twice), the steering wheel plastic peeled, the ball bearing rods, the air bags. After a year of fighting with Hyundai and paying $300.00 to have the oil pan cleaned out and all new oil put in and being told I was not maintaining the car correctly.....the engine died and they furnished a new one. Thank G-d I did not die driving on 400 in Atlanta when the engine decided it was going....Hyundai should have replaced the cars instead of the engines.....piece of JUNK. Now I just got a class action lawsuit notice for the sunroof that apparently shatters! HUGE mistake to buy this car...and Consumer Reports rated it very highly at time of purchase.

Terrible choice

The car is cheap but does look well. It is good on gas and provides good turn radius and noticeably decent cargo space. I loved my car until I’ve been through 2 and there is a recall on the vehicles engine that seizes and shuts off/destroys the engine. They increased warranty and all but they still sell these terrible cars. 2 owned both engines seized.

OK Vehicle, Lousy National Company

2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T Ltd is an OK vehicle. However, the national Hyundai company is the pits. Hyundai does not answer direct questions. The navigation system is appalling (I have a $350 Garmin that is vastly superior). The maintenance schedule was designed by a sadist. The sunroof is liable to 'spontaneously explode' (actually experienced one of these, and the barrier between the sunroof and the cabin is FABRIC and NOT RIGID, therefore glass rains down on the occupants!).

BAD CAR

This car has too many recalls and is not a reliable vehicle. I have only had this car for one year and a half and it needed a new motor. It was replaced for free, but that's not normal for a car!!!!!!

It’s a ?

I have had trouble out of this car every since I had it, taken it back and forth to the dealership and staying to three hours. From my backup camera to sensors has been worked on, the engine light stays on and no one knows why! I hold my breath every time and turn the key because anything could be wrong with it or going out on it, I just paid it off and I don’t want to go in debt for another vehicle, every time they fix one thing something else needs fixing. 2012 sonata’s are lemons and that’s maybe just my opinion

Problem began within 1 month of purchasing...3 yrs of the same problem! Under the hood would shake, loose power & would become undrivable. I would not recommend this was the worst vehicle ever owned

2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

The car was ok at first and I do mean just ok. But once it hit 100k its became my worst nightmare. Ive had it for 3yrs now and it's been an never ending money pit. Ive replaced the air flap system 3x so far ($1200 a pop) and that's just the beginning. I been to the dealership twice in less then 90 days and it's still not fixed, they don't understand what I'm talking about and they can't find the problem. That car is not safe and it's not built for Houston roads or traffic. I really wanted to love my car but it's a complete never again for me.

Wouldn't buy another

Wouldn't buy another Hyundai Hybrid. The company inflates their claims to the miles per gallon especially regarding hybrids. If we bought another hybrid it would be a Toyota or go full electric with Tesla.

Non - repairable.

My Hyundai sonata hybrid 2012 is a waste of my time and money, and cost me my job because I'm an uber driver and this vehicle is not repairable. Took to a dealership with problems i was assured they would fixed because they did not manage to after my vehicle stayed there for 4 months paid 4500 and still has the same problem.

Stay away from this car.

This particular car has had 7 recalls for repairs. There are at least 2 more recalls in the future, one of which is for engine/bearing failure....can't wait! I believe all the recalls should be done at one visit instead of waiting for them to fail. Massive inconvenience. Also, recalls had to address non-functioning brake lights on different occasions....the brake lights! Unacceptable...that could be deadly. Stay away at all costs.

Has alot of electrical problems

Hybrid system does not function well. I have been broken down on side of the road 3 times for same reason. Service department would preform regular maintenance and say it was fixed. I would drive it for about 40 or 50 miles and would have the problem again.

THIRD ENGINE

I bought my Hyundai Sonata brand new in 2012 and followed routine maintenance. The engine seized at 43,000 miles. Hyundai replaced the engine at no cost to me. They also extended the warranty on the engine for another 10 years. The engine failed again at 117,000 miles less then ten years later. Hyundai replaced the engine again but reneged on their extended warranty. They only paid 65% out of the goodness of their heart. These GDI engines are prone to fail. I can not recommend a Hyundai product.

RECALLS ON ENGINE AND HORRIBLE SERVICE ON THE RECALLS AND WARRANTY NEVER HAVE TIME TO WORK ON RECALLS AND WILL MAKE YOU WAIT WEEKS TO GET YOUR CAR BACK THEY NEVER HAVE LOANER VEHICLES AND TRY HARDER TO UPSALE YOU THEN FIX THE PROBLEM YOU BROUGHT IT IN FOR
