new engine

After finding out my engine needed to be replaced, I was happy to hear it was covered under warranty only to find out the new engine has NO WARRANTY How is that possible. I don't think that is acceptable but what can you do

Happy

We are pretty happy with our sonata. We do wish they had lumbar support for the passenger side. My wife has a very bad back and lubar support on the passenger side would give her more relief. We may have to look for vehicles that have this option.

Great..until the engine went at 55K

I purchas this 6 months ago from Carmax because it was under mileage. Fast forward to August..the engine recall check done on the car prior to sale...was a fluke. The engine started making a loud clicking noise. While the tech was performing a diagnostic check...it seized. Two months and a loaner vehicle later, I finally got my car back with a brand new engine. My favorite part of the car is the sporty look,the back up camera and seat warmers. This car looks best in red with tan interior!

Car seems sluggish and from very first day the brakes grate like they need to be replaced, but was told the dampness causes the brakes to act that way. We now have 40K on car and your mechanic says the brakes are all still good and only thing they recommend is replacing fluid? We bought car that had about 3K on it still supposed to be new and why didn’t they change fluid when we complained about brakes when we bought car?

Brakes grate everyday and mechanic claims it is moisture on disc for first few times you apply them. Lost a lot of power to respond when accelerating after first 10K, now I worry about passing another vehicle on road trip.

Love my Sonata

I love my Sonata. It is a great car, no issues just awesome! It handles like an expensive car, it accelerates much better than expected. The style is great, paint really looks great especially for a 2014. Love the dual exhaust, looks on point!

I love my sonata this is my second one. Just has a small rip in the seat from previous owner but no big deal love these cars my fiancé is getting the Elantra next. Looks the same just sportier. What he is looking for.

Great Car

I have a base model and bought it brand new in September 2014. I drive a lot 170,000 plus miles in less than 4 years. In 4 years the only maintenance that was required was oil changes, tires, and brakes. It has been worth every penny so far averaging about 38 mpg. Recently the engine failed and Hyundai replace the entire long block completely free of charge and even supplied a loner car until mine was fixed. I also leased a 2017 Elantra for my daughter who also loves her car and the MPG she gets. I would recommend a Hyundai to anyone looking for an inexpensive reliable vehicle.

Delicate car

It looks nice, gets good mileage and has decent acceleration. I've been warned by several people to only use factory oil filters. Aftermarket filters are apparently too dense and cause problems with oil pressure and subsequent engine damage. So instead of $4.50 for a Fram filter at Wal-Mart, you pay $9 at the dealership. And don't take it to an oil change place, you'll have the same problem. And according to a dealership service advisor, it's completely normal for the wiper blades to only last 6-8 months. Aftermarket blades like Bosch (which last 2 years on my Buick, and cost the same as Hyundai blades), I was told won't work at all on this car. Of course he could have lied to get me to spend more money too. You never know.

Love my sonata

I know they redesigned this car but for me the best model is mine of course 2014 :) my car doesn't use that much gas I fill it up about once per month. That's in the city. For out of town driving usually I get even better mileage. Love my car!

Hyundai Sonata

I love my Hyundai Sonata. It's a comfortable and economical car to drive. This is my second one. The first one was purchased in 2002; the second in 2014. It's been not only comfortable to drive, but reliable as well. Our granddaughter in Kansas City is driving our 2002 with over 160,000 miles on it, and it's still going strong.

Love this Sonata!

I love the looks of my Sonata. It has a sleek sporty look... And a unique design helps me spot it easily in parking lots filled with same-colored cars!! The good sized trunk allows me to get 3 sets of golf clubs in easily... 4 sets are challenging, but can do it. Back- up camera is the best!! Makes my life easier!

Love these cars prefer the older v6 engines though but otherwise it's great. Had some issues with ingnition relay switch but it was covered under warrenty . .........................................Great car

LOVE IT

This is my 3rd Hyundai and I recommend them to all! In fact, my mother tradiher Ford in for a Hyundai! The style, features, and value are great! Each time I’ve bought another Hyundai I’ve gone up a size! I drive my car several hours a week. I have named “her” CeeCee. My car is more than a car, she’s my child so just like my human kids I take very good care of her maintenance! I simply love Hyundai!

My 2014 Hyundai Sonata is AWESOME.

I love my Hyundai Sonata. The gas mileage is so great. The car's design is pleasing to the eye. I love all the extra features. I don't know how I would ever live without a backup camera and the blind spot warning lights and pings in another car. The service that my Hyundai dealership gives me is beyond awesome.

Hyundai Sonata

This car is easy to drive, comfortable, and the quietest I've owned. It comfortably seats five people, and is pretty easy to clean. The seat adjustments and the large trunk space are great for long trips and over-sized loads. I'm not crazy about the back seat lock being located in the trunk; but we'll probably be friends in a few more years.

2014 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T Limited

The car is nice. Smooth ride and good power. The interior is nice. The Dimensions Stereo sounds really good. I was surprised how good it sounds for a factory stereo. The 18 inch wheels look good too. Overall a very nice car.

Seems like there have been way too many recalls on this model. Seat heater switches need to be somewhere on the dash. Love the handling and the seat comfort. Gas mileage is great even around town. ........

Love my Hyundai!

Always bought Honda but now I love my Hyundai all around a great car !! I love driving it . The style is really nice . Interior is nice . I would definitely recommend Hyundai to anyone that asks me . I also appreciate the safety rating !! One of the best !!

Hyundai Sonata

We have had our Hyundai for four years and have 41,000 miles on it. The only problem other than recalls was the drivers seat up and down switch became intermittent. It was replaced under warranty with no fuss by the dealer. The only things that I don't like about it are the color of the lens in the temperature panel, the blue is very hard to see in the bright sunlight that we in Houston have an abundance of, and the speed controlled volume feature doesn't work. I asked the dealer about it right after I bought it and he checked it out and told me that it was the same on all the Sonatas the he had.

Like the car very much.

I very much like the handling and ride and look. My only criticism is in the air flow. The air does not come out strong from any vent and you can't completely close off any vent. If you set it to floor, some air still comes out defrost. The floor vent has never come out very strong which is very noticeable in winter. The placement of the vents for the driver are partially blocked by the steering wheel. But it's great on gas mileage and the seat is comfortable, and I really like driving it. You can almost turn in a circle in the middle of the road.
